Today, I'm sharing with you the JD-01S Classic Mirror Optimus Prime. This mirror version of Optimus Prime is not at the original size; it's about 12.5 cm tall after being downsized. I haven't had time to take photos, so let's take a look at how it performs.
▼The packaging is very simple, made of corrugated cardboard. Inside, the toy is protected with blister packaging, and the accessories are located behind the base.

▼The contents include the Mirror Optimus Prime figure, the base, a rooftop gun, a chimney gun, a large sword, a shield/claw, and a pair of open-handed replacement hands.

▼Thanks to the official BOTCON Mirror Optimus Prime's color scheme, the color design of this small-scale Mirror Classic Optimus Prime is quite striking. Aside from the two parts attached to the forearm, the proportions of this mold still look current and not outdated at all.
The chest windows feature crack detailing, and there is gold paint embellishment and silver weathering throughout. This isn’t the dry brush kind of weathering that shows age; instead, it looks more like oil stains or dirty weathering. As for the knees, there seems to be a noticeable defect, possibly not a rare occurrence. It seems that the first batch of figures had the forearm parts installed incorrectly as a common issue.

▼From the side, the parts attached to the forearm really stand out. The top cover is simply plugged into the back, and the size of the backpack is acceptable.

▼The two images above show the various ways to mount the weapons. I must say, the designs of the rooftop gun and chimney gun were ahead of their time back then. I won’t display the open hands here.
The head can rotate 360 degrees but cannot look up or down. The arms can rotate 360 degrees and lift to about 90 degrees. The elbows bend 90 degrees. Due to the interchangeable hands, the wrists can rotate 360 degrees, but the connection isn’t very secure, and the hands often fall off when holding weapons. Transformation requires a waist rotation, but it’s hindered by the backpack and can't rotate 360 degrees. The legs can kick forward, sideward, and backward to about 90 degrees, though the backpack slightly interferes with the backward kick. The knees can bend slightly past 90 degrees. The feet can achieve 45-degree contact with the ground, which is an improvement this time around.

▼The transformation is not complicated and is the kind you can remember after transforming it once. In vehicle mode, the oil-stain weathering is still present, and the car headlights and rooftop lights are painted green. The front bumper of the car has the words "not for sale" in English, and there are also some English details on the car roof. What does this phrase mean? If any collectors know, please leave a comment. Both transformable weapons can be perfectly stored in vehicle mode.

▼In vehicle mode, the rooftop cover does not perfectly fit the car top and leaves a slight gap. After close inspection, the gap mainly occurs on the top-right of the car, where the parts connecting to the shoulders should be mirror-image parts, but the right shoulder uses the same mold as the left. This causes the right shoulder to protrude by about 1mm when stored in vehicle mode, creating a gap between the rooftop cover and the car roof. This issue doesn't seem to be rare and could be a common problem with the first batch.

▼In conclusion, the JD-01S Classic Mirror Optimus Prime has great paint, a variety of accessories, smooth transformation, and well-balanced joints. I’d also like to mention that the base interacts with both the robot and vehicle modes, but it can't store the accessories, which makes the base somewhat unnecessary. If the assembly process had been more meticulous, it would have been even more perfect. If you’re interested, you might want to wait for the fixed version. That's all for today’s review.
