▼Shockwave is more than one size smaller than the official Core Class Shockwave, but the handling of the G1 design is very accurate. Even with such a small head sculpt, there is no obvious paint loss or overflow. The chest armor uses separate paint detailing at the front, and the asymmetrical shapes of the left and right arms are also faithfully reproduced.

▼The hoses need to be attached after opening the box. Their length is slightly longer, making it convenient for players to trim according to their own aesthetic preferences. At the same time, an extra hose is provided in the box as a spare, in case one is lost or cut incorrectly.

▼On the back of Shockwave, a fairly complete gun barrel is preserved, which also matches the G1 setting. Although it is a tiny-scale toy, the back design does not appear cluttered.

▼The articulation of the figure: the head can rotate horizontally and tilt up at a large angle. The arms can rotate vertically, and can raise sideways well beyond 90 degrees. The elbows can bend 90 degrees and swivel. Because of the transformation structure, there is no waist rotation. The legs can kick forward over 45 degrees, sideways and backward about 90 degrees, and the thighs can swivel. The knees can bend about 45 degrees, and the feet can tilt inward for ground contact. Shockwave’s articulation basically corresponds to the official Core Class level, but in fact, his articulation is much better than many Core Class toys.

▼The transformation of Shockwave is not difficult, with a complexity level about the same as an official Core Class or Deluxe Class. After transforming once according to the manual, it is easy to remember the steps. The hoses do not need to be removed during transformation and can transform together with the figure. Shockwave’s alt mode is the G1-style blaster. Compared with the robot mode, the completion of the gun mode is not as high. After all, to take care of the robot mode accuracy while ensuring smooth and simple transformation, a slightly less complete vehicle mode is inevitable. If you insist on absolute perfection in both modes, then the play experience would definitely not be as comfortable as it is now.

▼Shockwave’s size is already very small, but Cliffjumper is even smaller by about one-third. At least I haven’t found a Cliffjumper smaller than this on the market. Cliffjumper’s head sculpt looks a bit goofy, serious yet still cute. The car windows are painted with metallic blue, and the detailing on the feet’s car lights is also very refined. Overall, Cliffjumper gives off a compact and exquisite feel.

▼Compared with Shockwave, Cliffjumper’s backpack looks slightly cluttered, since both vehicle wheels have to be hidden. In the cartoon, Cybertron compression technology could achieve this, but toys cannot, so the wheels have to be cleverly shifted into the torso.

Cliffjumper’s articulation is similar to official Commander Class products of the past, and in terms of this tiny transforming figure size, as many joints as possible have been packed in.

▼Cliffjumper has one more weapon than Shockwave, which is his exclusive cannon with sniper functionality, paying tribute to the G1 legendary sniper Cliffjumper. The cannon is fully painted in metallic colors and can be attached to Cliffjumper’s arm via a slot. This tiny body paired with such a large cannon creates quite a fun contrast.

▼Cliffjumper’s transformation design is also very simple, and I feel Cliffjumper’s cleverness even surpasses Shockwave’s. The car mode is relatively well completed among tiny-scale products. Except for a joint exposed above the rear window, there is basically nothing to pick on. The whole car is shorter than one finger joint, and with the fine paint applications on the windows and headlights, it looks very delicate.

▼This Cliffjumper & Shockwave set manages to ensure comfortable transformation while maximizing the completeness of both modes. The appearances of both figures are very faithful to their G1 images, and they also come with accessories used in the cartoon. The extremely small size makes them perfect for keeping at hand for casual transformation play, and the cost-performance ratio is quite high compared to similar products. I think if you want a toy suitable for casual play, want to experience the transformation of tiny-scale figures, or want to complete your tiny-scale lineup, this Shockwave & Cliffjumper set is highly recommended.
