Grahf: DNA has issued an update for this set on their Facebook page stating that they might not ever make a reissue for this set once it sells out.

So if you were going to wait for a sale or wait too long in general, you might not be able to get this set after a while.

I know it's not ShowZ's fault. They didn't make or price the figure. Their normal prices are lower than the asking price from BrickyRobo's own site for the same figures.

What I don't know is what else to say about this line that I or others haven't already said.

BrickyRobo already had a template in pricing from Takara. And while I understand that they can't completely compete with Takara's pricing as BrickyRobot has to pay licensing fees, the prices shouldn't be quite this high. There have been several other companies that have paid the license for the Machine Robo franchise and have also made figures that were higher than similar figures on the market at the time, but this is a whole other level. It costs more than Action Toys Bike Robo DX/Cy-Kill. That was third party mostly MP sized figure and this Gyro Robo still costs more even at 25% off. That's just crazy.

I want these to work out so well just as I wanted the previous two attempts at making modern Machine Robo/Go-Bots toys. It's just the prices have always been cost prohibitive. However, the previous attempts from Action Toys and Megahouse were still reasonable and I even picked up a few of each. These though will forever stay out of my collection at these prices.

And as I previously stated, this line was meant to have ten figures and they've already hit a titanium wall at the first figure.

I just hope this doesn't kill any further attempts at making updated Machine Robo figures. I mean, it's already the third failed try at it. And they were all price/value for money issues when compared to similar sized and quality figures. Surely someone has to be aware that this has been the issue and not the desire from fans to obtain the figures. There's definitely a market for updated Machine Robo and Go-Bots figures that look like the original designs. It's just these companies seem to be too greedy. Like they're trying to bleed us dry as quickly as possible.

I just wish Bandai and Hasbro could somehow work together to bring something forward. It would need to involve Takara though and I think THAT'S the main problem. All three companies have several properties that are technically "co-owned" (for lack of a better term) by the others. Do a little give and take here and there to work something out where everyone can benefit while making updates to those properties. Super Sentai/Power Rangers as well as Machine Robo/Go-Bots are both Bandai and Hasbro (and now licensed to Playmates). Transformers is obviously Hasbro and Takara and there's no problems here, but there's also a bit of Bandai in G1 that can be worked out better too.  Brave and Macross/Robotech is Bandai and Takara with a splash of Hasbro for each in different ways. So I mean, something can be worked out between the three companies to take over the world of converting robot toys lol.

Just imagine if the three came together to produce toys from those series. Decently priced and quality Machine Robo/Go-Bots, Brave, Transformers, Macross/Robotech and Super Sentai/Power Rangers figures. New and reissues. Maybe even cross them over some. And of course, Beetras and Dorvak too.

That will never happen though and it just wishful thinking. It sure would be great if it happened.

Oh and again Show Z, send these back to BrickyRobo instead of putting them on sale. Don't take losses for their mistakes. Let them eat the full losses and hopefully someone can learn from this catastrophe.

Grahf: Literally two hours is all it took for my comment to get deleted on the KO MP Style Gen cartoon colors Optimus Prime.

Anyway.

This is one of the decos "Maketoys" done that interests me. If only because it's a completely original deco. Or rather, I have yet to find the homage and I've been able to find almost all of them except for the ones that were original decos like this.

That all being said though, I'm not a fan of this deco. It's not doing THAT much different than say, G2 Starscream overall. Sure some colors and shades were changed and there's no camo on the wings, but I'm just saying the general vibe is mostly still the same with the bright white and the orangey pinkish color.

But let's be honest here, it's a rather boring deco.

I mean, you have full access to color this however you want including any and all decos used at any point in time and this is what you make?

And to think that this was supposed to be an actual exclusive to the other place. THIS.

Oh well.

Just seems like a waste to me to have done something cool.

There were these two random KOs of Classics Starscream that weren't made by KOLD or CHMS way back in the day. One was white and burgundy with some bright green highlights. The other was hot pink with blue. I would've done both of them at some point. I used to have that pink one and it was so cool looking in hand. I ended up calling it "Oddball" after the Wendy's kids meal Go-Bot toy that was a bright pink jetformer. I ended up never getting the other one before I stopped caring about the Classics mold. I recently seen it pop back up somewhere along with the KO Classics deluxe Ultra Magnus and the KO desert camo Classics deluxe tank Megatron. I STILL want those last two lol. Oh yeah, there was also two KOs of Classics Ramjet too. One was someone normal Ramjet colors. The other was inverse colors, but instead of the burgundy color on Ramjet's wings, it was bright orange. What a crappy KO too as it broke in several places. A real cheap KO that one. The orange one that is as I never got the standard color Ramjet.

Yeah, a bright neon hot pink seeker with blue forearms and feet is what I would've done.

Wish I still had pictures of it from when I sold all my Classics Seekers. There's barely and pictures of it out there anymore. It was a beautifully gaudy figure and I miss it in a way. I'd love an update to it actually.

And the name of this. Tangerine Swarm. Not very inspired either, but neither is the deco. The "Swarm" part is fine and I get it. It's the "Tangerine" part. I understand that it's due to the color, but it's still lame.

Nice to see it on sale for those who still need it. It's like a third of what it was now at the other place.

Grahf: So I see that nobody has mentioned which Seeker this is supposed to be on this listing. I guess I didn't on all of them or that my comment was deleted by my top "three" stalkers.

Moody Blue here is modeled after Botcon Machine Wars "Rainmaker" Bitstream specifically. It's not modeled after the actual G1 Welcoming Committee Bitstream from the first episode.

The differences between the two, other than what team they're on, is that G1 Bitstream is supposed to be a very beautiful deeply saturated sapphire blue and Botcon Bitstream is more of a teal. Which as you noticed, isn't quite the color used on this. Moody Blue is less greenish and slightly brighter than the Botcon figure.

So why do I think this is meant to be Botcon Bitstream? Because this was originally released alongside Golden Hour and Violet Hour. And those are colored almost exactly like Botcon Machine Wars "Rainmaker" Sunstorm and Hotlink. Thus making this one Bitstream. The rest of the deco lines up too with the blacks and whites. Well, Golden Hour isn't quite right as he lacks the black he should have, but that's "Maketoys'" fault as whoever is doing the decos is mixing up different versions of the same character sometimes. And I mean, there's many different decos of Sunstorm out there to get confused about.

It's great to see these on Show Z and even better to see these on sale.

However, I'm going to have to pass as his two actual partners didn't go on sale with him. Just as Gangreen and Fruitpunch didn't go on sale with Col Mustard as those are the actual Rainmaker trio. Even if they DID go on sale together, I might still have to pass. I pretty much have all the G1 style Seekers I want and I have to limit it there or end up spending entirely too much getting them all. If someone wanted to do this to a cheaper mold like the Siege or Earthrise molds though...

I do have a few of these Maketoys Seekers though. They're okay. Nothing special. I mean, it's a rather old mold in the third party scene now. I do still like this over the new Takara MP Seeker mold though as I hate the hyper toon look they're now going for.

I'd still love it though is "Maketoys" decided to run their Galaxy Meteor aka: Cybertron Starscream mold in some more colors I'll pick THOSE up. I'll have to do it carefully, but I will get them all. There's at least 12 other official decos they can do with that mold before making things up. Skywarp, Thrust, Dirge, Ramjet, Universe Ramjet, Sunstorm, Bayverse Cybertronian Starscream. Platinum/WFC (G1) Starscream, Hasbro voyager Cybertron Starscream, Shattered Glass Starscream, SG Skywarp and SG Thundercracker. And yes, all three have used the Cybertron Starscream design in SG fiction at some point. And other than those decos, Maketoys had plans of making a Thundercracker too. Skywarp as well, but theirs wasn't a match to the official figure. A bonus deco they could use I guess. From there the Rainmakers and Welcoming Committee would work too as those seven were all Tetrajets even if four of them never transformed in the cartoon. Then maybe do Redwing too like Hasbro did with the Siege mold. I'm just saying that "Maketoys" has an easy way to get my money if they wanted to start using their other Seeker mold.
