Grahf: Well...at least it's not the start of another Devastator.

Computron is cool and he doesn't get done often. Really only five of them out there. G1, CW, UW, Maketoys and Warbotron. So one more won't hurt.

Oh it's so called legends scale.

Nevermind.

I mean they're cool and all but they're usually overpriced for what they are. And I don't really collect that so called scale.

'So called legends scale' because they don't actually scale to the legends class which is their namesake. Each company made up their own small scale. Some companies made up several different so called legends scales on top of it. So not only can't really mix and match between the companies to supplement a collection, but you might not even be able to stick to just one company as they changed sizes.

Oh well, doesn't really matter though.

If this is priced decently and ends up looking cool enough I might think about it.

I mean, who knows if this is even going to be finished as this company hasn't even made anything yet. And what's that? This is the same company that has a Tigerhawk up for preorder? I put down a deposit on that. Let's check that out real quick to remind myself. second quarter of 2024 and no updates? Hmmm......

JTBoo: Looks like you offended some people but I thought this was funny review. Seems true to me so up thumb from me. =)

By May 12,2024 05:26:28

Grahf: They either work for CraftsmanToys and don't like the fact that I called them out on being a new company and the possibility they might not actually end up releasing anything. Or they're mad about overspending on the so called legends scale figures from all these companies that don't match. It's not like I'm lying or making things up about either thing. This company as far as anybody knows, has not released anything yet. Also, there's like six to seven different so called legends scales and about six or seven different aesthetics between them. Hasbro scale, Dr. Wu scale, New Age scale, Iron Factory scale, Magic Square scale and more from slightly oversized KOs and from at least one company redoing their scale. Chibi G1, 'CHUG/neo' G1, 'MP/toon' G1, IDW G1, samurai and more,
TransArt BWM-10 TransMetal Dinobot II
Grahf: At this rate it's going to be second quarter of 2024. I mean, it's well past second quarter of 2023.

The new prototype pics look good though. The official sizes of this and Transmetal Megatron indicate that this is perhaps a tad too short. Megatron is 10.24 inches and this is listed at 10.04 inches. They should be at least the same height with Dinobot II being maybe a bit taller at the top of the head horns for Dinobot II.

It should be fine though as this is still going to be a big boi.

I really wish there were more than three/five (Are Megatron and Tigerhawk REALLY Transmetal 2 on the show? They were in the toyline at least) Transmetal 2s on the show. They're such good designs yet we'll probably never get any decent updates of most of them. I'll take more regular Transmetals too. Just hurry up and do non-show characters already...other than the redecos that is. Arcee, Tripredacus Agent, Labrat, Packrat and Nemesis optimal Optimus? are fine and all but I mean the other non-show Transmetals like Waspinator, Scavenger/Inferno, Rhinox, AIRAZOR, Terrorsaur, Sonar, Jawbreaker, Scourge, Ramulus and the rest.

Once we have Transmetal Rhinox, Terrorsaur and Airazor, they can make Unicron's Horsemen along with Transmetal Cheetor all based on the Armada retools. I really want to bolster Unicron's minions along with Windrazor...regardless of who makes him from Silverbolt.

Ukhupa: TransArt has done a pretty good job of pumping out all of the post-Season 1 cast. As far as show characters that were Transmetals or Fuzors, all they have left to do is Rampage and Tigerhawk. And that's it really. They've teased Transmetal Tigatron from the Primeval Dawn and since they've already made Primal Prime and a Transmetal II Ravage, I want to believe a Transmetal Airazor is in the cards at some point. Maybe a undead Tarantulas repaint down the line. I've also read on the TFW forums that apparently they've also show interest in doing their own version of Dragon Megatron. After that the sky's the limit. As you say, I'd like them to do the more obscure characters that at first existed only in toy form but then had appearances in comics.

By May 14,2024 23:48:23

Grahf: I can go for another TM2 Megatron lol. I have the Perfect Effect, FansHobby (although this is based on the 'Transmetal 3' Botcon figure), Jiangxing, Jinbao OSKO Iron Factory (the actual figure was too expensive even though I like the wings better), Legacy, OSKO Legacy, the original, Beast Machines Megatron, Savage/Noble and even that little drone Titanmaster Savage/Noble from Takara. Actually, the only one I don't have is that 'TM3' Botcon figure. Due to Punpub's licence having expired they didn't care and sold them all to scalpers at the convention instead of putting them up on their site. I get it, money is money but have a little respect on the way out. It was a real shit move on their part.
BW TW-1031 Studio Series SS-101 Scourge
Grahf: Well, I got this for free with my points. So maybe that's why they've taken away 8 points per comment and all the points from likes.

But I mean, I did purchase stuff as well and got triple points from that (namely 6 Maketoys Seekers and several preorders that came in recently from BW, Modfans and DNA). It's not like you can rack up a ton of points without purchasing things as well.

It's just, an explanation would be great.

br4jar: Showzstore hasn't been all that great as far as customer service on my experience. They need to do better. They need to let people have points from likes and comments and reviews. I have never been a premium member and I guess there's no reason to be. I bought the maketoys seeker hotlink and slipstream. I purchased a drift and it canceled on me because noone would get back to me fast enough to fix it. I never have any points except for the ones I get for purchases. I guess they're getting greedy. I wasn't aware of them stopping points for comments and likes. I did get a few items for good price. Like tfsource price for the 2 maketoys seekers I got are 159.99 and I paid 59.99 so those were good buys. I like these kos but if they start costing anymore I'll end up keeping only the official ones. Right now cost isn't too bad though. I just customer service would help me more.

By May 15,2024 04:24:36

Grahf: I've never had to use the customer service here yet so I have no opinion on that one way or the other. I NEVER would've touched those Maketoys Seekers if not for the price reduction here. I got all six that were listed here for almost the price of two from other places. But yeah, since the 7th of this month they changed comments from being 16 points a comment, twice a day. So only 32 points a day total. Now it's 8 points a comment twice a day. So only 16 points daily. Any likes on your comments would give 10 points each. Now they give nothing. Ultimately, this is still one of the cheapest and most reliable places around. Maybe they're just trying to bank off of that now while limiting the points gimmick and comments section that made them popular to begin with. Build up a certain way of doing things then take it away and ride it out. My problem is that nobody seems to know why they did it. There's been no explanation so far that I know of. As far as being a member, you still get triple the points for purchases. Which do add up but it was nice to also get those extra points from the likes.

Grahf: So they started deleting comments now?

I wonder if that has something to do with the new bullshit with the points for comments being reduced and the absolutely stupid and useless dislike button.

My previous comment is still showing up in my reviews but when I click on it, it doesn't bring up the comment. I also can't find it when searching all the comments on this listing's comments section.

I should check a few of my other comments to be sure. At the very least, the comment I made on this listing on May 12 is no longer here.
Grahf: So I checked and yes, they're deleting comments. So far the ones I've noticed did indeed have quite a few dislikes but had more likes overall and had the highest likes of any other comment currently in the comments section for those listings.. Yet they were still deleted due to having more than one dislike..
DNA Design DK-54 Upgrade Kits for Animated Optimus Prime w/ Bonus
Grahf: So I just got the thighs extenders for Optimus in today.

As is, it breaks truck mode. But again, I'm hoping that there's somewhere in the new 'trailer' to store them. Partsforming I know but so is the whole set lol. You can kinda sorta leave them on for truck mode but the inside of the shins clash with the top of the pelvis.

Now normally this wouldn't be an issue as you could just redesign a new pelvis to go along with the set and replace it. But for some reason, Hasbro has been using flat headed pins for almost everything instead of screws. So you can't actually take the pelvis apart to change the front plate. You can take the entire pelvis apart at the waist and then take the legs off at the thighs but it would take a lot to replace these parts. You also can't take the lower legs apart to replace the lower thighs to make extending legs either as again, flat headed pins.

Man, those flat headed pins are annoying. I get that they're technically higher quality than screws, especially Hasbro screws that strip easily, but it makes it so that you can't customize the figures anymore. There's quite a few figures I wanted to do something with but I'm not going to bother as those flat headed pins are annoying to try and get out without issue.

I also got the black soles for Optimus as well. Those definitely won't work with this upgrade. But it is nice to see that they work with that ring pop looking axe holder that comes with the Superman Studio filler kit. The new soles have the exact same size ports in the same spots so that axe holder just pegs in like normal. I'll be using these parts with one of the Wingblade kits. The thighs extenders will be going with this PMOP set.
[Pre-Order] DNA DK-47 Volcanicus Upgrade Kit for Legacy Evolution Dinobots
Grahf: Looks like I'm first up to rate this.

For starters, this did in fact come with the bonus blue swords.

In true DNA fashion, they failed to address the actual problems with the base set however this time around, they managed to not do anything egregiously bad.

The new parts are color matched about as good as they could do. You can notice a difference in the shades but it's not horrible.

The right elbow was holding the set up with revisions. If this is the tolerance they thought best, I'd hate to have seen earlier versions. While not overly loose or unable to hold poses, the elbow was still too loose for my liking and I tightened it up myself.

Speaking of the elbows though, they're not symmetrical. The left elbow is higher than the right one and as such, has a longer forearm. This is due to using the one leg of Skar as the base of the left arm. They could've done better with the right arm to match but this is DNA here so of course they didn't. So the lower arms are out of sync with each other but it's not horrible.

The hands are surprisingly fine. I don't actually have any complaints. The swords slot in well, the wrists hold the weight of the swords. The articulated hands look believable as fists. The digits go where you would want them to. Not bad.

The feet are fine as well. The ankle ball sockets are nice and tight from the start. The connectors are fine as well. The only real gripes I have is that the ankle itself should've been longer. As is, that Snarl sword actually gets in the way of the center toe spike by quite a bit. I had to trim down the peg on the sword handle to make more room. Not that there's much to even trim off of that 3mm post but I did it anyway. Without doing this, the handle ends up pushing the foot down too much causing balance issues for standing.

Speaking of balance issues while standing. The feet should've been longer. There needed to be more foot behind the combiner. Or at the very least, have another tail be able to peg in behind the second foot as a heel spur like Grimlock's tail. Both feet are identical otherwise so you can only peg on Grimlock's tail to either foot.

Speaking of tails. All the tails should've been outright replaced by new parts. Having to keep all of them alongside the new parts is such a short sided design choice.

Speaking of short sided design choices. The weapons for each figure. There's six swords and six guns so you'd think each figure gets one right? Nope. They're done in three pairs of two each and none of them replace any stock weapons the figures come with. Swoop, Grimlock and Slag each get two swords. Skar, Snarl and Sludge each get two guns. However Swoop still has his double gun fist. Grimlock still has his gun tail. Slag still has his gun tail. Skar still has his gun tail. Snarl still has his sword. Sludge still has his nothing. It would've been best if each figure got a sword and a gun...or in Swoop's case, sword and two guns. Or just give the other four G1 figures their one sword, their one gun and their one rocket launcher gun while Swoop gets his one sword and his two rocket launchers. Then make up something for Skar so that he has maybe one sword and two guns or one sword, one gun and one rocket launcher. So none of them will look right when armed as is.

The directions want you to plug Skars fist/tail/gun onto Swoop's double gun/fist and then wedge it into the back of the combiner. It has no place to actually port onto. You're just supposed to wedge it in back there. I thought I should bring this up as what a lame thing to expect us to do. This just goes right along with the lazy way DNA designs their kits.

What should've happened is that they start by replacing the tails, fists and sword outright. Just take them all and leave them in a box. Then design the new parts to completely replace these while also incorporating them into the combined mode parts.

Then they should've made sure the elbows lined up better.

Finally make each individual figure's weapons combine or at least store away properly on the combined mode. The bottom of the feet are hollow anyway so had they made the feet longer like I suggested, they could've stored six weapons under each foot. I ultimately found places for everything that ends up far better than they suggest but it just goes to prove there were much better ways to do things than what they came up with. To do this though, again, I had trim the 3mm peg on Snarl's sword. I also had to unpeg Snarls legs for foot mode and shift them up a bit so that I could peg two of the guns onto that foot. But had the ankles been longer like I suggested, it would give the clearance needed.

Ultimately though, the set looks good. It does what it sets out to do and that's to add feet and mostly better arms to the combined form along with weapons for Volcanicus. However there's several other options out there.

However I do also have the thigh extenders and shoulder wideners from Ebay. I feel they do help quite a bit.

Keng: Deleting comments, which are not violating the guidelines is insane... Last year, I notified ShowZ about some comments from a user, who was lashing out at others (including myself) in the comment section, and they wrote that they would take necessary steps towards this user, and they eventually also deleted this user's comments, but the comments were also in direct violation of the ShowZ guidelines. This user was calling people all kinds of derogatory names and what not, but deleting comments, just because of dislikes, and while the comments in line with their guidelines, sounds really messed up...

By May 27,2024 06:41:55

Grahf: Just had another comment I left today be deleted due to dislikes. But again, it had more likes than dislikes by far and was yet again, the comment with the highest amount of likes on that listing. I don't every attack anyone personally. All I did was give a full review for Studio Series Bumblebee(Movie) Leader class Megatron and tore it apart as it's overrated. Several people even agreed in replies.

Grahf: So I know that most of us have realized that since May 7th, we haven't been getting 16 points per comment and are only getting 8. But has anyone else noticed that the 10 points per like has also stopped since that day? I've received several likes on comments since and my points haven't gone up at all.

It would be great if there was an explanation as to why they changed this or at least a heads up to the change in policy.

I thought it was because my premium membership had lapsed or something. So I reuped on it meanwhile I was good until next year as it was. Now I'm good until 2026 but have less perks. What a minor nuisance. I now only get triple points for purchases and 8 points a comment twice a day. I'm down 8 points per comment and 10 points for every like on my comments. That adds up a bit. I've gotten quite a few 'free' figures that way. Maybe THAT was the point? But then why have the system in place to begin with.

So uh, an Elita One retool of Arcee. How amazingly original.

And people complained so hard back when we got four figures by Hasbro from the Moonracer base mold and another two from a heavy retool. These third party companies do far worse. And you can't go by the current aftermarket prices for those PotP girls either since they ALL went on clearance before they finally sold out. Meaning that they didn't sell. They didn't sell at first due to people not wanting them. Then it was due to them all being mostly the same mold. Now everyone wants them. Go figure.

Need to do an Elita One? Use Arcee.
Solus Prime? Arcee.
Predaking colors for no reason? Arcee.
Black stealth version for no reason? Arcee.
White snow version for no reason? Arcee.
Nightbird.
Lifeline.

Combiner Hunters colors.

Grahf: Seriously? That's fucked up and shouldn't happen. Do we get notified when it happens? Wait, they're not. I just put up a comment, about the BMB SSBB Megatron and got one like and one dislike. Got notified about the like but not the dislike and my points are still adding up correctly. I don't know, I'm not going to pretend that the SS BB Megatron figure is great like everyone else. It's a mediocre figure overall as only the robot mode is any good. Super overrated figure. People can dislike that comment all they want, it's still true and people need to stop kidding themselves about it. Just got a second dislike typing this out. Had to refresh the page to see it and my points still didn't go down.
BW TW-1031 Studio Series SS-101 Scourge
Grahf: I have all three versions of this figure now. The Official Hasbro Studio Series, the Black Mamba KO as well as the BaiWei KO. I also have both DNA upgrade kits for this mold and the Tim Heada thighs, gas tanks, ankle armor and cannon extension.

So...

This figure overall is the best of the three.

Things lock together better. The front parts of the vehicle mode to be more specific as it has the most things that come together all around the same area. Once I had everything in place, they stayed in place.

The feet don't need to be repositioned into their proper place for robot mode. A place that isn't always obvious on the official or BMB figures. One of the ankles on the BMB just won't stay in that detent. But it doesn't matter here as the new parts in the feet and ankles has the feet naturally in that position for both robot and vehicle modes.

This comes with several retooled parts. The thighs, the feet, the ankles, the pelvis, the head and neck, the left claw hand and to a much lesser extent, any part that had molded on chains like the chest biceps, right forearm and smokestacks with the exception of the chains on the left wrists. Speaking of the smokestacks, they're now screwed on instead of just pegged on so there's no fear of them coming off. Currently my official is missing one as it's in the bottom of a bin. The smokestacks also have detents to lock them in place for truck mode. So not only do they not fall off as I already mentioned, but they also don't flop around like the SS and BMB figures.

The deco is nice and clean too. No paint representing battle damage or grime. The colors otherwise aren't an exact match to the oficial SS figure like the BMB tried to do. It's not a drastic change in shades but it's noticeable when you have them all together.

There's also some metal being used if that's your thing. Just a few little pieces and nothing to throw the balance off any.

One really odd thing is that the arm cannon is black. But that's fine as the blade on the official SS figure is too. So I'll just give the cannon to him...except that you can't without modifying the base figure. The 'key' on the left forearm peg that the new arms connect to is a different size on this BW figure. So all you need to do is shave off the 'key' (raised part on the peg) on the official part so you can use the arms from this BW KO on the official SS figure. This also adds a forearm swivel as well as that 'key' on the peg prevented that previously.

So for the 'negatives'.

I couldn't care less about the chain or the Transwarp Key. You might but I don't.

They show the cannon connecting to the claw arm but that's only possible on the extra, non-posable, claw arm that's included. I would've liked it had it been on the new articulated claws arm but it's not. Minor I know but it's a thing. I don't even keep a cannon arm with this figure so I couldn't care less but I know someone might.

That's really it. Not much to deduct a star but I just don't think many things are worth 5 stars. I guess you could say that as far as a KO of Studio Series Scourge goes then it is 5 stars but in general, it's just 4 stars.

So as for the setup for my now three Scourge figures:

SS Scourge has the left arm cannon from this BW figure, the Tim Heada cannon extension, the Tim Heada ankle guards, the TH thigh upgrades, the TH gas tanks for the inner thighs, the DNA neck and head (as the stock neck wouldn't go back on AND the BMB figure has larger ball pegs and can't use the DNA head), and the DNA rib cage pieces as despite me not liking them, I wanted to use them.

BMB Scourge has the all the DNA parts except for the head and neck and the ribcage pieces. I also use the left arm with the full hand with this figure to change it all up.

The BW figure is stock with the articulated claw hand arm.

Three of the 'same' figure with three slightly different looks. Scourge, Clench and Motormaster. I think those are the names I'm going to go with. If not Motormaster then Colossus (G1 Clench's other name). I just purchased a Universal Studios SS DOTM Megatron (grey) and he'll be Megatron whereas standard SS DotM Megatron (brown) will now be Mega Octane. If only SS Galvatron had a recolor of some sort so I can have a bigger SS Decepticon/Terrorcon convoy...so to speak.
Grahf: Oh yeah I never mentioned the new shoulder pads. They partsform and they don't go anywhere in truck mode that I seen. So I couldn't care less about them. You have to take the standard ones off and replace them with the new ones. Just not worth it to me. The new head and neck are cool too. However, the hinge for the upward head motion is at the base of the back of the neck. So it's in a really odd place and causes the head to look completely disjointed from the neck when the figure is looking up too much. Great for a flying pose but who's going to display their Scourge in a flying pose.
