Grahf: Yeah that's not the vehicle Sky Spy scanned for Optimus Prime's vehicle mode template. That was a dark reddish orange cab. Darker/more red than Huffer but brighter/more orange than Optimus. It also didn't have the silver stripes.

Marvel UK Sentinel Prime is bright yellow though. Except he secondary color is orange and not Optimus Prime blue. Otherwise there's no other Sentinel Prime that is close to this color wise.

That's what throws me off the most about this. The fact that they didn't change the shade of blue.

But at least now third party and KO companies will have something else to draw inspiration from with their Optimus Prime redecos instead of the same roughly four decos over and over while usually ignoring the other five or so decos they could do instead.

Still though, I'd rather just Shining Magnus colors. Bright Yellow with black. But then the trailer wouldn't be right.

But I mean, Magna Convoy is a different character from Delta Magnus so they could've done that. Or all white like when he's battling the hate plague. Or all gold from the lagoon. Darker blue with red feet. Convoy black version (Autobot not Decepticon). Convoy gold version (gold instead of silver). G2. Shattered Glass. Dead. Nemesis Prime. Robotmaster Lucky Draw. There's a few decos Takara could've done before having to do something like this. And that's before having to get into licenced decos like the many BAPE colors, Evangelion, Pepsi, Ghostbusters, 7 Eleven or IPOD colors.

If anything, this is closest to the Lebron James colors. Silver stripe. Brighter yellow orange Sunny Delight looking color. The face and blue don't match though.

Regardless, point being is that there's options for actual Optimus Prime redecos without having to make stuff up.

If they wanted to do a powder blue with orange version called Sentinel Prime though that would've worked better. At least for the name.

Grahf: Seems Bombusbee has some kind of comments for points system. Also their prices are lower than normal so that when including shipping, they're actually a few dollars lower than here for some that I checked like Transart TMII Dinobot and Gi One Trypticon. Others seem to be a bit higher. So overall the prices are mostly the same after factoring in shipping. Search functions suck bad. Why do almost all of these types of stores have such shitty search functions? I'm tired and about to go to sleep so I'll check more tomorrow. But it seems that Bombusbee might be a contender. TFSafari as well...for the most part.

Grahf: So if you purchase both of these "discounted" broken figures, you can have one complete one and a pile of spare parts and junk for just about the same price as just buying two. AND you won't be able to complain about it further breaking as they're being sold as broken figures.

I mean I get that Show Z has to try and recoup some of the losses here even though it should be BMB footing the bill but damn, these "discounts" are extremely laughable considering the main problem with each figure.

Grahf: This is funny. I bring up that these aren't the correct colors for the thing they claim and I get downvoted and "corrected". Others say the same thing and people upvote them. Where am I right now, Seibertron.com? Unless people don't like me bringing up the other options this could've been or the other colors it could've been based on the name...which would be stupid. Nor does it take away from the fact that there are much better choices if they had to redeco this so soon.

Grahf: According to Takara, it's meant to be the truck that Sky Spy scanned in the original G1 cartoon. However the colors are wrong for that as the truck was bright red orange. Some say that it's based on a degraded version of the cartoon but even then, the colors are still wrong as that was dingy yellow orange. This is bright yellow with a slight orange tint. So officially it's the truck that was scanned for Optimus Prime's truck mode but named Sentinel Prime for some reason. G1 Sentinel Prime is powder blue and orange. This reminds me of the incorrect "correct" colors Takara used for Unite Warriors Nosecone and Afterburner from their Computicon set.

Grahf: Yellow and black would be the colors of the cab of Shining Ultra Magnus. So if they ever make a Missing Link Ultra Magnus you might see that as a redeco. Yellow and red would make some sense as those are close to the colors of the G1 UK comics version of Sentinel Prime. He's normally yellow and orange.

I really don't understand how a company that has almost 90% of their figures break or have other problems still get so much love and excitement for their offerings.

I can't wait until I see all the reviews of this that say that it broke it three places and that there are problems moving pieces past other pieces and that there isn't actually a (insert part of choice here like foot/arm) and that it's just panels folded together with zero tension and that nothing tabs together and that the joints are too loose but still somehow give it 5 stars because it's the only Misfire on the market.

But I mean we won't know about this figure for sure for another 5 years or so. This is going to be one of those "endless preorders" that won't see the light of day anytime soon. There's still the Omnibots that aren't done and their redecos. Punch/Counterpunch redecos. Headmaster Jrs. Deathsaurus. Throttlebots. Constructicons. Scoop. Galvatron. Windcharger and redecos. Protectobots. Battlecharger redecos. Autobot X. Perceptor and redecos. Orion Pax. Wheelie. New Rodimus and redecos. Ironhide and Ratchet. So maybe it would be more like 8 years before this comes out.

Grahf: If you're reading this on August 23 of 2024 then you can get a Nova Prime upgrade from SND for CW Battle Core Optimus Prime from TFSource for only $15. I own that set and it's pretty good. Not great but it's really cool looking. Sucks in combined mode but I mean, the Motormaster mold in general wasn't great in combined mode anyway.

Value for money, it's a far better set than this one is going to be too.

I really do miss when there were several companies doing upgrade kits. Having just one real option sucks.

Nonnef only does small kits like heads and weapons. Toyhax is the same but does far less physical upgrades than the very few even Nonnef does. Renderform are a bunch of assholes that never follow through with what they tell everyone they're doing and instead do other shit nobody wants.  And that's about it. Everything else are 3D printed designs be they stollen designs or not.

But I mean, why do upgrades when there's another Devastator that needs to be made right?
