Yolopark AMK Series Transformers One Elita Cogged Mode Pre-Assembled Model Kit
Grahf: Not really into things like this but both of these Elita 1 "model kits" look pretty good. Her design is interesting and there's no way we're going to get a toy of her that really does the design justice without some kind of compromise. I mean, there has to be a reason Hasbro hasn't shown off a transforming figure of her yet right?

So I might actually pick up both of these. They look good and they're not expensive. I might have to go back and pick up a RotB Arcee too if one exists. I don't really have any interest in the others. Probably because the existing and upcoming toys of them are or look good enough without much compromise to the overall robot mode designs.

Cedar: Does everyone have tab in problems with his chest? My normal reviewers haven't posted anything on him yet. Is that just how the chest is made, or were there some defects with some of them? It looks like some people are saying the chest doesn't tab in at all, and there is a gap in the chest.
Grahf: I just got mine in today and everything seems to tab in fine. I haven't seen any other pictures yet to see what others are saying but as far as mine goes, it looks like I would expect it all to.
Pangu Toys PT12 SuanLi Black Ninja
Grahf: Having just received my first Pangu figure I'm not too sure about this now.

This looks great don't get me wrong. That's not the issue.

The problem was the materials they used. They felt cheap and I constantly thought I was going to break the figure. One that barely actually does anything to transform.

This figure is a triple changer and is an original design. If they use the same quality plastic they used on Silver Samurai (and Loki and Cyclonus be extension) then I don't see this holding up to more than a few conversions.

Which would suck as figures with multiple modes are meant to be converted between them more than standard figures. It's one thing to not transform my Silver Samurai and Loki (when he gets here) since their alt mode sucks (Iron Factory's fault and not exactly Pangu's) but it would be another thing to not transform a multiformer like this.

So this is going to be a wait and see for me. I'll be looking forward to the reviews on this. I just hope someone gets it in hand that isn't from the Lego Movie.
Grahf: A downvote on this one too?!?! What the fuck? Do words confuse you THAT much? Or do you just go around to all my comments and downvote them? That would be pretty fucking pathetic. Oh I get it, you ARE actually from the Lego Movie. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! No, no it isn't always awesome. The criticisms I give are actually constructive and are honest takes on the figures without emotion. I could be like the rest of you and just say I love everything but that would be useless and misleading to anyone who was on the fence about something but then buy something they hate based on a lame review that doesn't weight the pros and cons that the figure actually has.
Pangu Toys PT12 SuanLi Black Ninja
PrimalxConvoy: I just got the Pangu Toys "Snake Eyes" crossover toy and here are my observations:

- Based upon the SS TLK Hotrod.

- Animal parts (head and front paws/claws) are parts-forming accessories.  The claws are held in the hands and double as traditional Japanese-style claw weapons and the head pops over the back of the robot head for beast mode (but doesn't seem to be able to store anywhere easily in bot mode).

- MANY accessories, but not all of them can be stored in any of his three modes.

- Most weapons are too tight in his hands (which have wrist swivel but do NOT have 5mm holes) and are very thin plastic, so getting them in and out of his hands is VERY difficult.  The large spear-type weapon is very loose and can't be held in his hands.

- His right robot elbow is very loose so he can't even hold his small guns up easily.

- Too many small accessories, do it might be easy to loose them (although they do provide many play/display options).

- The extra weapons and/or pegs for them are very thin and possibly brittle, as the plastic quality feels like their other OSKO Legends figures (Lio Convoy, Cyclonus, etc).

I think this is a good idea for a toy with lots of play features/options but it's let down by thin plastic, loose joints, tight hand/weapon clearances and a lack of weapon storage.  The large amounts of extra car, animal and weapon accessories can also be bewildering.  As such, even though I was interested in the animal mode, I didn't bother with it and kept most of the extra parts in the box (never to be used).

I think this figure would have been better with only a few extra weapons (two swords and two guns, for example), which could fold/easily store away in car mode and no animal mode.

In conclusion, just like the other previous "feudal Japan" Pangu Toys figures, this is more of a curiosity/display piece, rather than a robust, pick-up and play figure.  Only get this if you're into Japanese or GI-Joe figures, or have a soft spot for the original SS TLK Hotrod mold.
Grahf: Damn. Sounds like it's almost there. Just needs that little bit more polish. The partsforming third mode breaks my spark though. Thanks for the review and letting me know you put it up.
Black Mamba GS-01 Studio Series SS-80 Brawn Oversized Version
Grahf: Bro they seriously skipped half the transformation instructions in the pictures here lol. That shit's funny.

Okay got my FREE figure in yesterday. IT IS NOT AN OVERSIZED SS-80 BRAWN. Do not get this thinking that. I had a comment saying that before but for some reason people who don't know how to read deleted it yet didn't get the other posts saying the same thing deleted.

Anyway, this figure is not great. It's also not bad either. In no way is this a 5 star even if you ignore all the problems though.

It feels heavy and robust but only because there's metal in the feet and calves. Otherwise this thing would feet very cheap. The plastic just doesn't feel very good. Not horrible but just not good either.

I didn't have any problems with the chest tabing in though. I seen a few people having problems there. Mold flashing or warping or whatever other problems theirs might have had, mine did not.

The transformation while not difficult, is also not intuitive. Once you know where everything needs to go and how to get them there, you shouldn't have any further problems. It's just where pieces need to go or how to do it is sometimes counterintuitive. Things just don't come back together for vehicle mode like you'd expect them to in a way. Not a bad thing as different isn't always bad. It's just something to note.

The wheels are rubber so as long as they're not being hampered by the other parts, you can get a satisfying feeling from rolling him around due to the extra heft from the rather heavy metal being used.

Some of the joints were too loose but you can tighten them up as they're screwed in.

Not a fan of these hands but they do the job I guess. I like the three fingers and thumb look though.

The weapons are a bit weird or rather, their handles are but they work. I wish the bulkier gun maybe tabbed in lower on the handle. It just seems to sit higher than I'd want but I think that's due to the thumbs.

The fully combined weapon is too long but the two smaller weapons are mostly fine.

It looks good and has a good size. The plastic feels a bit cheap in many places and for different things. The metal is rather heavy for what little there actually is leaving the figure feeling deceptively heavy and less cheap feeling than it really is. I'm not worried about breakage issues or anything though. Articulation is fine and has what you'd expect and does it well enough. Not bad for the price.

Sorry for the scatterbrained review. I can't seem to focus for this one. The figure just gives me so many mixed feelings that I wasn't able to articulate very well this time. There's nothing wrong per say but at the same time, like everything is wrong. Such an odd vibe I'm getting from this. Ultimately though, I don't regret getting it...even if it was free with points. I can see others really liking it and I'm okay with that. I just know that this is nowhere near a five star figure.
Lemontreetoys LT-03 Shockwave Purple Potato Decepticon Starship Revenge
Grahf: Been eyeballing this one for a while now. Finally pulled the trigger.

I like it for the most part.

There's just quite a few things about it that kinda suck.

What exactly?

The lower abdomen pieces don't seem to tab in anywhere.

I have an overall disdain of third party articulated hands and these don't make me rethink my position on them.

The chest doesn't seem to really tab into the torso well.

The ship pieces inside the legs are badly designed for conversion. There's only JUST enough room in those legs to do the necessary spin for transformation and to get everything lined up to tab them together for alt mode. While I'm not opposed to things needing to be a certain way or exact position to work as that's the name of the game here, this takes it to a stupid extreme. There's more than enough room for this to not be an issue but it is for some reason. There's no need for things to have to be that exact in order for the legs to form the rear of the ship mode. It's poor engineering. Not that the steps are bad though, it's just that it could be the feet are slightly too big or the space for things is just barely big enough for things to fit right.

The cannon hand doesn't have enough room in the arm to store in the forearm for alt mode. This to me is a huge fail. Don't bother if you can't leave it on at all times. There's no need for this to happen.

The quality of the plastic. While it's not bad, it's not good either. It's that kind of plastic that feels like it's always about to break. As a result, it feels cheap. Do I think the plastic is going to break? No. But I'm certainly worried about it.

In fact, it did actually break in one spot. The teeny tiny hinge holding half of the backpack to the torso broke. There was no need to these to be that small. However the only saving grace is that at no point does that one single hinge matter for either the robot or ship modes. It only matters during transformation. However if the other teeny tiny hinge also breaks then that would be really bad.

So while I don't think the main parts of the figure will break, there's plenty of tiny pieces or super thin pieces that will break.

The arms don't tab together well for alt mode. So the front of the ship can just kinda split open at any time.

Tiny needle like parts that scare the shit out of me. Only two retract in any way. The other two are always out read to break at any moment.

So is there anything good?

Yes.

It certainly looks like Shockwave.

It certainly looks like the Revenge.

Which is surprising since you wouldn't think that was possible. Sure there's a sizable backpack of parts that don't contribute to anything other than making it not look like Shockwave's backpack but it's mostly fine.

The articulation is also fine. It has almost all the range you'd expect. Nothing seems to be annoying to use other than the ab crunch. Oh and the hands themselves. Fuck those hands. Ew nevermind, the knees don't feel good. They're too tight coupled by the cheap feeling plastic makes for a bad combo. Wait, it's only one knee. The other is fine. So the figure's left knee is way too tight but the figure's right knee is toleranced well. DON'T try to adjust it at the screw either unless you want to explode the knee. Luckily I stopped in time just now. This is just a case of bad design tolerances and not the screw being too tight.

Even when trying to find the positives, I find more negatives.

It's not that bad though I swear. It looks good in both mode so long as you're not messing with it. There's several spots on the ship mode that if you put even a little bit of pressure on will cause the pieces to detach or fold in on themselves leaving you to have to take other things apart to get them back out. See, I find more negatives lol.

This isn't a bad first outing for this company. What's that it's their third? No it isn't. The second numbered figured hasn't even come out yet and this came out before the first numbered figure if I'm not mistaken. Again, not bad for their first release. There's plenty of jank but also plenty of good. Maybe if they were more experienced some of the smaller problems wouldn't exist but they do.

You'll most likely enjoy this if you get it but just know that not everything is sunshine and rainbows with this. And it's not like I got a first release figure either. This is like the fourth run of the figure at this point so yeah. I don't regret getting it but I'm just reminded me as to why I've been hesitant in getting it all this time. It's exactly what I expected but that isn't always a good thing.
XTransbots MX-61 Ballistic Misfire
Grahf: Why are people excited for this? It's Xtransbots.

I really don't understand how a company that has almost 90% of their figures break or have other problems still get so much love and excitement for their offerings.

I can't wait until I see all the reviews of this that say that it broke it three places and that there are problems moving pieces past other pieces and that there isn't actually a (insert part of choice here like foot/arm) and that it's just panels folded together with zero tension and that nothing tabs together and that the joints are too loose but still somehow give it 5 stars because it's the only Misfire on the market.

Time after time after time after time people are burned by this company. Yet people still get their stuff. You are the problem. Insert Michael Jordan meme here: Stop it, get some help.

I mean I get it, all Transformers collectors are masochists but damn man. Some of you Xtransbots collectors must really hate yourselves.

But I mean we won't know about this figure for sure for another 5 years or so. This is going to be one of those "endless preorders" that won't see the light of day anytime soon. There's still the Omnibots that aren't done and their redecos. Punch/Counterpunch redecos. Headmaster Jrs. Deathsaurus. Throttlebots. Constructicons. Scoop. Galvatron. Windcharger and redecos. Protectobots. Battlecharger redecos. Autobot X. Perceptor and redecos. Orion Pax. Wheelie. New Rodimus and redecos. Ironhide and Ratchet. So maybe it would be more like 8 years before this comes out.
FG Model FG-01 Macross VF1S God of Flame w/ Fast Pack Armor Standard Version
Grahf: So this is a "model kit". In that you don't actually have to assemble it yourself but it is a model kit right? Or is it just a straight up action figure?

Still I'm not too sure about this. I'd like to have a G1 Jetfire with more articulation (one of the few I actually would want) but I don't want a fragile one. Being that this says that it's a model and that it's a KO has me worried that the plastic used might not be what I'm looking for.

I love my Siege Skyfire and OSKO Skyfire but the Valkyrie design is really cool. Classics and T30 don't quite cut it either. T30 is close but not close enough due to the transformation being so different to try and avoid those Harmony Gold fucktards. Luckily Hasbro doesn't have to deal with them anymore for any Jetfire made after that though.

I'm just apprehensive about picking this up.
[Pre-Order] Craftsman Toys DJS-01 Vultiger King Tigerhawk
Grahf: Seriously though, I'm so tired of these companies that only show off designs and give out unreasonable release dates.

I get they're excited and they want to show everyone what they're working on (an 11 inch Tigerhawk and a so called legends scale Computron) but it would be fucking great if you focused on just one to get it out there. This is now the end of quarter 3 of 2024 and still no updates even though this was supposed to come out last quarter.
Waterslide Decal for Transformation SS86 Swoop
Grahf: Okay that's cool and all but what about the other four Dinobots?

If I'm going to put stickers on one of them then I'm going to put stickers on all of them. Otherwise one would look weird. They all need to look uniform...other than Swoop's chest I guess. I prefer the red chest for Swoop personally though.

It's all or nothing for me when it comes to something like this though. I would need a matching set for all five at the very least. Ideally, six sets if they wanted to do a set for the Nonnef Paddles conversion kit for Sludge as well. Otherwise it's going to be Toyhax for me as they have a set for Paddles. Which I might do at some point to make Paddles look less like Sludge.

And the name "Paddles", I think it's time we change it. It just doesn't fit the naming convention of the Dinobots and it never has.

I recently seen someone call "her" "Scald". I find that to be a little too boring or rather, obvious. Maybe it's due to the move in Pokemon that I feel that way about using that as a name.

I've taken to calling Paddles, "Splosh" instead. Splosh being the act of making or the sound of softly splashing around in a liquid. To me at least, it fits with the other names a bit better sound wise. Also Paddles if depicted as being far more gentle than the other Dinobots. So with splosh being the word specifically for softly splashing in water, it's more befitting of the more gentle character. And not unlike depictions of the "Loch Ness monster" in media and how it's usually a gentle creature. For instance the video games Earthbound and Super Mario 64 depict their plesiosaurs as being friendly, gentle and helpful.
