4th Party KC-01 Optimus Prime Toy Version w/ Trailer
Grahf: That's a higher price than what I was expecting. But the same can be said about the original.

I don't think this is going to change anyone's mind though. If they didn't want it before, this price is still too high.

For those that did want it but thought the real one was priced too high, then this might get them to buy it though.

It's more than half the price of the original. I also don't like this or the concept behind it. So this is still too much for me. Maybe about about $45 I'd pick it up for the novelty and then wish I got something else instead. But now I can skip that step and just get something else.

I just remember certain forums that were dreading and complaining about things that were just "G1 with articulation". Yet people seem to love this even despite the prices. But if there's anything I've learned about the forum dwelling members of the community, they're hypocrites. Especially one or two of them in particular and several Youtubers.

Carnivius: I don't understand. Here in UK the Missing Link is about £130. This KO is £53. That's much less than half the price. A Hasbro Leader Class figure costs about £55. Studio Series 86 Optimus cost me £85. This KO price seems fair to me.

Grahf: That's because it's a known fact that the UK pays more for official figures than the US. Not as much more than some other countries like Australia or Brazil but you do pay more than we do here. So for us, this is more than double the price of the actual release. Especially when you import it from Amazon Japan or Amiami instead of going through Pulse, BBTS or another store like that. For instance, your 130 GBP is roughly 163 USD. That's 43 USD more than us for the same figure from Pulse and about 60 USD more than import pricing. I

Carnivius: More than double the price of the official Missing Link? Huh? BBTS have it for $119.99 (or the trailer-less one for $69.99 and this KO with the trailer is $64.99. I'm really confused, sorry.

Grahf: I mistyped. I meant half like my original comment, not double. That should've been obvious.
[Pre-Order] Craftsman Toys DJS-01 Vultiger King Tigerhawk
JuliosK8: When was this announced? Is it that figure that was announced under the name of Jiang Xing or whatever? The same company as that Megatron TM2?
Grahf: A month and a half after you asked but this was first put up for preorder January second of 2024. This is not the same as the Jiang Xing version either. This figure would've been about an inch taller and is a stylized version as the overall design, the transformation and parts layout is very different. The Jiang Xing seemed to be going for screen accuracy like their Megatron.
[Pre-Order] MetaGate G06 Blue Boy Dropkick
Grahf: Cancelled?!?!

I posed a question on another listing the other day. That would it not have been cancelled had we put in some preorders here.

Normally putting in a preorder would give the company some idea if it's wanted or not.

But it seems that's not how it works here at Show Z.

Does Show Z even report to the companies how many preorders they get for a figure?

I mean, there's still open preorders for things that were officially cancelled years ago. Also the lack of updates from Show Z on items that get additional things added or changed like the DNA listings. So it makes me think that there's no communication between Show Z and these companies.

I put down several preorders on items trying to show support but those items still seem to quietly get cancelled and end up on permanent hiatus here. It just makes me think that I should preorder at a site that does actually report to the companies to show my support for an item but then cancel it before it comes out to order here for cheaper and for the points. But that just opens up other problems as it skews the count needed at that other store.

Point being is that I'd like to know if it would've mattered had I put a preorder in for this. Would Show Z have told Metagate how many people here wanted one.

Like did my preorder for Craftsman Toys Tigerhawk matter?

They moved onto so called legends scale Technobots even though the Tigerhawk went up for preorder months before Nosecone.

So is their Tigerhawk postponed?

Is their Tigerhawk cancelled?

Was their Tigerhawk ever supposed to come out?

Did my preorder on that matter?

Should I cancel my preorder?

If so, when should I cancel it?

I still really want that Tigerhawk. And the one from Jiang Xing.

I want all the Tigerhawks.

MattST: I agree ShowZ should delist cancelled stuff. Metagate haven’t properly stated it is cancelled, however it has been “indefinitely postponed”. This might be back later but after the poor performance in sales with Shatter and the backlash with drift, metagate are too broke to produce this

Grahf: I thought Shatter sold well. Hell, I even picked one up. I transformed it to robot mode and haven't touched it since though. I want to sit down with it one day and learn it but I just don't have it in me right now to do it. I was meaning to pick up at least one version of the Drift mold but the day I went to, the one I wanted sold out and I didn't bother getting one after that. It had to be then and there and the time has come and gone. It was going to be an impulse purchase and that urge is long since gone now.
Auldey Transformers AAE Version Chapter 1 Set of 6
Carlanga: I understood these could not be sold in the USA, but could it be that I am mixing these guys with another set?
Grahf: No, it's these. They can't be sold at standard retail in the US. However you can import them from stores like Show Z or purchase them from a store in the US that imports them. Same would go for any other country that has the same restrictions from Hasbro about certain Transformers branded products. Or well, as far as we know. Show Z supposedly won't ship some of the Nina Turtle mechs listed here to the US so only time will tell if these will also be restricted here. But for now, it looks like they're good to go to import from here.
Auldey Transformers AAE Version Chapter 1 Set of 6
Grahf: Nice to see that these are going to be available here.

Don't like that Sunstorm is a lucky draw. That should be left from alternate versions of a character and not actual characters.
4th Party Diaclone POP01 Original Optimus Prime
Grahf: Seems others share my sentiment about the price making or breaking this.

It's more than we'd like but not so much more that it's out of the question.

Things have changed in life currently and it seems this is going to be the first cut for me though. I was waiting on the price and that's more than I'd like for a novelty. And I'm reading that the Diaclone KOs aren't full quality either. So yeah, this should've been priced even lower than it is if that's the case.
JiGuangMao Toy Steel Kiddy Party JGM-SKP01 Mini-Ferocy Predaking Set of 5
Grahf: Would be more interested if this wasn't a super deformed style. It's just not my thing.

Predaking looks good though. They used the lion legs of Razorclaw to bulk up the thighs of Predaking. Smart.

And most importantly, they know that single ankles or wrists aren't supposed to be larger than torsos. Something that MMC didn't seem to understand with theirs.

When your intentionally styled SD Predaking looks more streamlined and less SD than what's considered to be the "best" third party Predaking in Feral Rex from MMC. Damn...

This company looks to be making great figures so far as their Volcanicus looks just as good. I'm just not into the SD aesthetic. Would get this before ever getting the MMC Predaking or the oversized KO of it.
Dr.wu & Mechanic Toys MS-37 Giant Axe Broadside
Grahf: I think it's safe to say that this isn't coming out late December of 2024 since it's now early January of 2025 and this still hasn't even been updated yet.

Today's comments have been brought to you by the Autobot: Broadside.
FansHobby MB-20C Purple X-Load Overload Shattered Glass Version
Grahf: How very...uninspired.

If there was an official Shattered Glass Armada Optimus and Overload, they'd most likely be the Costco colors that were released during Energon. Just like SG Soundwave was based on that MP3 player Soundwave and SG Thundercracker was based on Action Master Thundercracker, when not swapping decos with another character or having a made up color scheme, they're based on random redecos of the characters. So the Costco decos would most likely be used for the official SG colors of Armada Optimus and Overload.

While it's nice that this is going to match their SG Armada Optimus, it's going to match too well. As seen with the Costco decos, even though they use the same colors, they use them in different amounts for each of them. Optimus is Dark grey with some maroon and a little bit of yellow. Overload is yellow with some maroon and a little dark grey. Jetfire might have been maroon with some yellow and a little maroon.

So this should've had the dark blue as the main color then use the dark grey and purple as secondary and tertiary colors.

Then Jetfire should have dark grey as the main color with purple and dark blue as secondary and tertiary colors.

Or vice versa for the color layouts of Jetfire and Overload.

Each of the three using a different color as the main, secondary and tertiary colors but still using the same colors between them. It would've been more dynamic that way.

And all three with the gold and silver highlights of course.
