DNA Design DK-55 Upgrade Kit for Transformers: Legacy United Leader Tigerhawk & Voyager Silverbolt
Grahf: Take this back to the kitchen, it's not done cooking yet.

The new back piece for Silverbolt is great. As are the wing extensions.

However, the color matching is bad. Not only that but they should also have replaced the now middle parts of the wings as well. While they were at it, MAKE THEM WHERE THEY DON"T NEED TO BE FILLED IN!!! How do you create new parts that need fillers under the wings in a kit that you acknowledge that fillers are needed under the wings? Also paint the feathers to try to match the wing tips that are being kept. Maybe make new sword feathers too.

Tigerhawks pieces are almost entirely unnecessary.

There are better options out there for the mask. One where you can utilize the mask as an arm gauntlet or as additional tail feathers. One where you DON'T need an additional piece to attach the mask. There are other options for wing fillers as well. Ones where they come with other fillers as well. Why bother making any fillers at all if you're not going to make fillers for all the places that could use them? The guns are okay as extra guns are but I was never bothered by the stock guns and didn't get the fillers for them when I got them for the other parts as luckily that was an option. The new bird claws are okay too but was anyone asking for those?

This is yet another kit that LOOKs good, but really isn't doing much and what it is doing, it's doing it questionably.

Match the colors better. Paint the parts to complete the look throughout the figure. Make parts that don't need another upgrade kit to complete them. Make parts people are actually asking for. Make the parts people are asking for in such a way where they don't need additional parts to work. If you make fillers, make fillers for everything or don't bother so people don't have extra pieces from getting fillers from another set.

Seriously though, is this the same company where almost every single one of their first 15 or so kits had perfect color matching? What happened? Almost all of their kits from the past 35 or so have had shit color matching. There's also been a focus on doing useless pieces over things that were actually needed. And why can't they make a single set of matching color swords for the fucking SS86 Dinobot kits. Each set has a differently colored sword, even when they're just red or just silver. What the fuck?

Oh and what happens when we get Razorclaw, Windrazor or Universe Silverbolt? We will be getting a Razorclaw I assure you. Windrazor maybe. Universe Silverbolt, probably not. So are they going to release just the Tigerhawk parts to match or are they going to say fuck the redecos like they did for every single other Kingdom figure that was made?

Want the Cheetor parts for Shadow Panther, Nightprowler or one of the Cheetor redecos? Tough shit.

Want the Megatron parts for T-Rex, Tyrannotron or the Megatron redeco? Tough shit.

Want the Primal parts for any of the Primal redecos or Burning Convoy if you managed to get one? Tough shit.

Want the Dinobot parts for Grimlock or either Dinobot redeco? Tough shit.

They should take the Dinobot dino hands, Megatron fillers, gun and mask, Primal fillers and mask and Cheetor Gut gun and make a kit out of just them in the additional colors.

Dinobot > Grimlock > toy colors Dinobot > Takara Dinobot

Megatron > T-Rex> Tyrannotron > Takara Megatron

Cheetor > Shadow Panther > Nightprowler > Takara Cheetor

Primal > Netflix Primal > Burning Convoy > Takara Primal

Primal got the short end when it came to redecos huh? Not even the Universe redeco to change it up a bit. Probably better to just leave those parts out like the other parts then lol.
[Pre-Order] Moshow Noble Class X Series Kidou Sentai Iron Saga Goraiga
Grahf: Holy shit this company has eighteen open preorders for figures on here currently with only three more ever having been released. Maybe they should focus on actually getting some more out before they keep telling stores to open preorders for more of their designs. Just because you show something off doesn't mean you should start taking preorders on it. Plenty of companies show stuff off for months and years at a time before they tell stores to start taking preorders.

This just comes off as a shitty business practice. You preorder something and it's probably not coming out for 5 years with how slowly they actually release things. What's worse is that this makes shopping on Show Z shitty as it's just adding to the endless amount of preorders that stay as preorders endlessly.

Show Z, the only store where you can preorder things that were officially cancelled years ago or preorder things that haven't been updated in 6 years or preorder from companies that no longer exist.
Robot Toys RT-03 Working Leopard Cheetor & Shadow Panther Set of 2
Grahf: 'Working Leopard'?

Damn!

I mean, there's no need to call it out like that.

If you ain't renting then just walk away.

No need to shame here.

It's the oldest profession for a reason.

There's always someone looking to throw down some cash for that kind of thing.

Not me or anything but you know, some people do, nothing wrong with that right?

RIGHT?

But you work it though Cheetor, get that money.
[Pre-Order] BingoToys BT08-01 Hertz Strafe
Grahf: I said it elsewhere but this company can barely make a transforming action figure as it is. There's nothing about this company to make me think they have enough experience to make an "MP" Computron.

They never released Ironhide which would've been their first actual Transformer...in the sense that it would've had a real alt mode and wasn't just a yoga pose.

Their Shockwave I remember people saying was good but that shouldn't be difficult when all it does is do a plank while extending a handle for a human to hold on to for alt mode.

All their Windblade does for alt mode is literally do a yoga pose while wings and a cockpit exist around her. It's also half of a jet as the rear is just her bent up legs that don't peg in anywhere. Beautiful figure as I have this one but a trash Transformer.

Their Blackarachnia looks good. I forgot to pick this one up actually. While it is another yoga pose for an alt mode, that's kinda what everyone does with Blackarachnia anyway so I can't fault BingoToys for doing the same. Especially since the end result does actually look good.

They also have a preorder up for a "Missing Link" style Grimlock. Okay well, that sure would have a real alt mode but that was designed by Takara over 40 years ago.

A Jazz that hasn't been updated in months and has no release date given.

Then there's their Year of the Dragon femme Transmetal II Megatron. That should be out by now but we haven't seen anything past that greeting card artwork from months ago.

So all of these except for Windblade and Blackarachnia are different aesthetics. Ironhide would've been the same aesthetic as Shockwave if they ever released their Ironhide. But this is now their fifth different aesthetic. Sixth maybe as we don't know how Mega Empress would look like but it can be assumed that it would match the other ladies.

So not only is it at least their fifth design aesthetic, it's that many with only three actual releases so far.

None of this is making me feel excited to see this company tackle Computron.

They can't make figures with real alt modes. They can't stick to one design aesthetic. They can't stick to one figure scale. They can't even release the figures they tease.

They should stay in "their lane" and keep doing bodaciousbabeformers. It might not have been their original intention but so far it's the thing that they're currently most known for.
DNA Design DK-60 Kingdino Upgrade Kits for Legacy Dinosaur
Grahf: So let's set some things straight with this set as it's just a redeco of the Volcanicus set for the most part.

The arms will be different lengths. The green arm will be longer than the blue arm. They hid it in all the photos for both combiners but it's very noticable in hand.

The elbows for both arms are on different spots on the arms. The blue arm has a lower elbow than the green one. Again this is hidden in the photos and is extremely noticeable when trying to pose the figure as one elbow bends at the lower torso and the other at the upper torso.

The green chest bits for Goryu will pop off easily as the ball socket on them is too shallow to hold onto the ball peg well enough. I ended up taking them off of Grimlock and putting them back in the box as I didn't want to have them fly off and get lost without warning. This is a widely known problem.

The pegs for the feet look to be the exact same as the ones for Volcanicus. Which means that they won't hold on securely. So when you pick the combiner up, the feet won't come with it. Tolerances will vary with this but it's at least one foot on every set that this will happen to. I haven't been able to fix this by tightening up the connection parts with water based polyurethane (Kiki Fix Loose Joints).

The Volcanicus fingers also like to pop off very easily and they're very small pieces that can be easily lost. Dinoking here seems to have new hands at the very least if not also the fingers. So there's a chance that this set won't have the same problem but it's something to note. Especially on a set that's going to need those articulated hands to really do anything with that combined scythe weapon. It would suck to have the fingers flying off all the time with that large a weapon.

Yokuryu doesn't come with the missile launchers that Swoop got. Just something to note about this version.

The small swords don't store anywhere in dino or combined modes. It's nice to actually see them in RED though. They should've been that color for the Volcanicus set as Dinobot swords are red, not orange.

The small guns don't really store anywhere for combined mode.

While the new feet have the pegs so they can be stored on Rairyu in dino mode like the stock feet, they don't have the pegs underneath them to use them as weapons in robot mode for Rairyu. They look really cool as pile bunker shield things but these new feet can't do that. They have to be held awkwardly as BOOMboxes now if you wish to continue using them as weapons.

The white fillers...are just fine I have nothing bad to say about those.

The new pelvis doesn't store anywhere but it really does add to the combined mode. This version especially. At first it will seem as those this won't stay on well but it does. I haven't had any problems with the Volcanicus piece falling off.

The new heads look good. But it makes me wish that maybe all the dinos go new heads instead of them including the smaller swords and guns.

The new combined weapon looks good too. I like how it can become two guns that can be held in hand but can also be back mounted over the shoulder guns as well.

And regardless of anything, other than the blue combiner arm for Yokuryu and the combiner feet for Rairyu, this kit will not outright replace any of the stock combiner pieces. Meaning that you'll be stuck finding places for the green arm as it's still used as Gairyu's tail just as Goryu's and Kakuryu's tails. But at least Kakuryu's tail is used for the abs and head. And these new weapons make the stock white sword for Doryu look like out of place as they still intend on you using it. So six translucent red swords with one aesthetic and one opaque white in a different aesthetic. There should've been six individual swords and guns instead of three of each done twice. Well, seven guns as Swoop needs to get two of the same gun.
Cang-Toys TA-HCZ002 Transage Bergion Axeetle
Grahf: Regardless of who these are or aren't, isn't it a little early to be putting these up for preorder Show Z? I doubt it was Cang Toys who said to. This is just adding to the already way too many open preorders that seem to last forever here.

Show Z doesn't take down officially cancelled preorders. They don't take down preorders from long since dead companies. They don't take down preorders for figures that should've been released 6 years ago. It's not coming out, just get rid of the listing.

Show Z is a great store, it's just annoying to search though listings as a result of all these dead listings or listings that were put up way too early.
NewAge H62R Louie Blaster Red Transparent Version
Grahf: Wow. Pay a near quadruple premium for a roughly four inch figure that WILL break even if it's untouched in box for it's entire life.

But hey, to be one of those select few fools...I mean high end collectors...to own such a majestically overpriced ticking timebomb must be worth it.

Majestically overpriced.

Yeah.
Iron Warrior Transformers: Prime IW-08 Scout Rhubarb Bumblebee
Grahf: It looks fine, hands look like shit, but it looks fine.

It's just going to be too expensive overall for what this is just like the Optimus.

And didn't their Optimus break or was it the one from the other company?

It is nice to see Prime getting some love though. Great series with awesome designs. Just wish someone would get to the Predacons and Insecticons already. Sharkticon Megatron too.
[Pre-Order] TransArt BWM-14 Beast Wars: Transformers Depth Charge
Grahf: Why any company would "slow down" on what brought them to the conversation when they sell well and are spoken highly of is beyond me.

You have the lane all to yourselves as one company that was going to make BW figures didn't, one company folded after three releases of one figure and another made one of the worst figures of all time.

Just keep going. It's easy money.

Do they actually think that those of us purchasing these BEAST WARS figures are going to transfer over to whatever else they do if they're not Beast Wars related?

For instance, I'm not going to purchase any G1 figures from them if that's the direction they go. There's already too many other options.

I might if they do another series that doesn't get done often like maybe RiD 2001 or even RiD 2015. Cyberverse, Energon, Cybertron, Machine Wars. Just something other than standard G1. Hypothetically of course.

Debatenothing: Apparently it's because they keep getting harassed by people and they had enough of it, imo that's dumb, just block the haters and keep making EZ money

By Jan 19,2025 23:15:11

Grahf: How much hate could they even be getting compared to some of the other companies out there? KFC/XTransbots makes figures that do nothing but have problems and break yet people seem to love them. Fans Toys makes some of the most overpriced figures and people love them. DNA makes some of the worst/most useless kits ever yet people love them from the early days when they made good kits and the one or two good kits that slip through the cracks now. The so called legends scale companies keep changing their own scale to make you purchase the same characters again yet people love them. So realistically, what are people complaining about with TransArt? Damn you TransArt for making pretty good figures overall that are well sized and for decent prices!!!!! How dare you do that in today's third party Transformers market!!! Sure, not everything is great with TransArt but the quality and size for the price is very good. Then you get a figure like Dinobot II that's just spectacular and still would've been regardless of if another company put out their own worse version or not. I have to see what hate they get now. I'm curious. I just want them to finish the main cast to move onto the toy only Transmetals like Airazor, Terrorsaur and Rhinox so they could do the Four Horseman of Unicron from Armada alongside Transmetal Cheetor.
Newage H64W Marvin Trailbreaker White Version
Grahf: Now this is an inspired mold reuse. One that didn't need to happen either since it's not like they're hurting for reasons to reuse this mold or parts of it.

Very interesting but I don't collect this scale.

Personally, I think Trailbreaker would make for a great base for a GoBots Scratch figure. The robot mode doesn't quite line up but the vehicle mode sure does.
