▼Opening the package, the first thing I noticed was the limited-edition number (1 of 2000) and the signature of Mr. Tetsuya Onishi.

▼Magic Machine Industries toys are never cheap, but their quality—at least in terms of appearance and detail—justifies the price. However, the retractable mechanisms on the Radiant Vehicle have some issues. I’ve seen reports from other users mentioning that the Human Cannon failed to pop out automatically after a few uses.

▼The toy’s structure is relatively simple, as it is based on an 80s Tokusatsu series. Limited by the technology and budget of that era, it was nearly impossible to create overly complex mechanisms.

▼The details and paintwork on the back are quite good. The radar or antenna on top is not integrated into the toy or part of the transformation but rather added as an accessory.

▼The radiator can be flipped to become a rotor, featuring a dazzling electroplated finish. However, it’s prone to fingerprints, which might be why some collectors prefer wearing white gloves when handling toys.

▼The cockpit can be extended to accommodate a pilot figure inside. However, the details on the small figures are very vague, making it impossible to distinguish between Team Member Mori and Team Member Mary.

▼Hidden in the original position of the cockpit is a laser gun with a simple and retro design that reflects the style of its era. When pulling it out, it’s best to be cautious, as the friction between the barrel and the vehicle body could cause paint to chip, which would be heartbreaking.

▼Radiant Two is fully transformed. It would have been great if Magic Machine Industries had included a stand to display its flight mode.

▼Radiant One is the centerpiece of this toy set, as it serves as the main combat vehicle for the Science Special Investigation Team—oops, watching too much Ultraman has me mixing things up; blame it on being a ’90s kid. Anyway, firing the Human Cannon relies entirely on Radiant One.

▼The toy features three mechanisms and multiple light effects. The first mechanism is the cape cannon on the vehicle’s body, the second is the front of the vehicle lifting to reveal the Human Cannon, and the third is the two-stage telescoping barrel of the Human Cannon.

▼The underside of the vehicle is equipped with tracks instead of wheels, ensuring that Radiant One can move freely in the unpaved terrains of the Cretaceous period.

▼The tracks have difficulty rolling on smooth surfaces, but with a bit of added friction, Radiant One can be pushed relatively smoothly. Apart from a few spring mechanism issues, the overall quality of this toy is quite satisfying.

▼However, be aware that the ladder on the vehicle is not securely fixed to the body, and several steps may come loose due to insufficient adhesion. If this happens, be sure to check the packaging box thoroughly—you might just find the missing steps inside.

▼When I opened the box, I heard a rattling sound inside. Thankfully, I had the foresight to thoroughly inspect the entire Radiant Vehicle, only to discover that a piece of the ladder had fallen off. If I had casually tossed the box aside, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

▼The photonic discs on both sides of the vehicle are magnetically attached, allowing them to rotate, which adds another layer of playability.

▼There are also two large flails at the front of the vehicle, but unfortunately, they cannot be detached. In my opinion, such weapons don’t quite align with the highly scientific style of the Radiant Vehicle.

▼Pressing the button on the side of the vehicle slowly raises the cape cannon on its back. It would have been great if Magic Machine Industries had included a firing effect accessory.

▼Pressing the mechanism next to the ladder gradually raises the front of Radiant One, completing the first stage of the Human Cannon’s preparation.

▼Human Cannon, fire!

▼In fact, Radiant One has a fourth mechanism: after placing the Kusser figure into the cannon barrel and pressing the button, it can actually launch the figure. However, since the effect can’t be captured in a photo review and I’m also worried about losing the figure after it’s launched, I opted to use the firing effect accessory to showcase the Human Cannon’s launch instead.

▼In fact, this approach feels even better than the mechanism itself, where the process of launching Kusser isn’t clearly visible. However, the mold lines are a bit of an eyesore.

▼Radiant One and Radiant Two can also combine, just like in the original series.

▼However, since one uses wheels and the other uses tracks, even though it’s clear that Magic Machine Industries put in a lot of effort, there’s still a slightly noticeable gap at the upper part of the connection after combining the two vehicles. It would have been better if there were clips to secure them more firmly.

▼The toy packaging includes four small figures of the Era Warriors, one Kusser figure designed for the Human Cannon launch, and another Kusser figure with articulated joints. However, it doesn’t include Kusser’s sword, which somewhat detracts from the overall charm.
