▼Many TF fans believe that the Missing Link C06 is just a repaint of the C05 Sunstreaker. But in fact, from the source material, Sunstreaker is the repaint, and today's main character, Cordon, actually originates from the Diaclone Primal-era CARROBOT series as the third small car. Before this Missing Link version came along, due to its rarity, it was considered a holy grail among collectors — a figure whose price was far beyond the reach of the average fan, and far more expensive than the original G1 Sunstreaker.
If you’re only planning to get one of the two molds, C05 or C06, I highly recommend choosing C06, because when it comes to the G1 Sunstreaker mold, this color scheme is exceptionally rare! Now let’s take a closer look at this elusive “White Sunstreaker” through my lens:
I. Outer Packaging
A classic G1 box art style — definitely a treat for old-school G1 fans:

▼II. Accessories and Paperwork
Inside the box, the contents are neatly stored in a foam tray, just like the G1 Japanese version. It’s quite packed with goodies, including: one main figure, one large gun, three missiles, one pair of shoulder accessories, one pair of G1-style plug-in fists. Most sincere of all, it comes with one Diaclone pilot — although it looks different from the old version, it perfectly replicates classic features like the chromed chest and magnetic feet! This allows the new generation of Transformers fans to experience the charm of a 40-year-old vintage toy!

▼As for paperwork, since mine is the 3C China release, it comes with both Chinese and Japanese manuals. In addition, there’s a G1-style mini-poster, one sheet of G1-style stickers, one character card, and one red decoder card to reveal the character's ability stats.

▼III. Vehicle Mode
Like G1 Sideswipe, it transforms into a Lamborghini Countach, but Cordon (Sunstreaker) is a high-performance turbocharged version, with an added rear supercharger. In this Missing Link version, the enhanced structure is represented through tampo printing and embossed details instead of stickers — absolutely brilliant! The cockpit can open to seat the Diaclone pilot, something even MP42 can’t do. As the very first car mold from the Diaclone CARROBOT series, designer Kojin Ono truly put in great effort!

▼IV. Robot Mode
The biggest drawback of old G1 molds is usually the robot mode. That said, although this Cordon does suffer from a wide waist, long arms, and short legs leading to poor proportions, the head sculpt is actually quite well done — I even think it has more character than MP42! After the articulation upgrades, its mobility is on par with MP 2.0 car bots. The head can turn about 45 degrees due to interference, which is enough. The elbows bend to 90 degrees, the knees go beyond 90, but due to the short lower legs, kneeling poses are hard to achieve. The biggest letdown is the absence of waist and ab crunch joints, which makes dynamic posing less expressive.

▼Side-by-side with MP42, although they’re from very different design eras — and thus vary greatly in transformation, sculpt detail, and articulation — the G1 mold has an edge in build quality. The entire car front is die-cast, all four tires are rubber, and the original sticker details are replaced by tampo printing, giving it a slightly more premium feel than MP42. As for the head sculpt, personally I think it captures the essence better than MP42. MP42’s sharp-chinned face looks both effeminate and sinister…

▼V. Final Thoughts
This optimized and remastered classic mold is a perfect substitute for the original Diaclone Primal version for veteran fans (like myself) who could only look up to its astronomical price. For me, the only downside is the relatively high price. For the new generation of collectors, the bulky proportions and unbalanced limbs in robot mode might be a major deterrent.
All in all, I give this product a score of 90 out of 100. What score would you give, fellow fans?
