Modfans AL01T Path of Transfiguration Ruller Roller Blue Version
Grahf: Price reduced, nice.

I was thinking about more potential reuses or retools other than CW Rook, Impactor and Wandering Roller. I came up with RotF Wreckage and Bludgeon but more G1ish. The vehicle mode is similarly shaped to either the standard mold or to any potential Rook retool. Just give him two arm mounted guns with spring loaded blades.

Any problems I listed in the comments of the silver version are fairly minor so I wouldn't mind getting more than these three that they're making which is why I'm trying to come up with more uses.
KFC Toys P15 P-15 Grand Raijin Super Ginrai Jinrai Optimus Prime
Grahf: Not that I could ever justify getting this as it's way overpriced for just the trailer but why is he pink? How can they not even color match to their own figure? When the cab is combined with this (sold separately), you can see an extreme color difference between it and this trailer. The paint doesn't even try to match either. People cry constantly about their $23 Earthrise Sunstreaker or Ironhide not having matching colors but not say anything when a $550+ set can't even color match? Get the fuck out of here with this shit.

And why are these bigger than they're supposed to be? The cab in robot mode is quite a bit taller than and is much bulkier than MP-10 Optimus and MP-36 Megatron. Yet Ginrai and Optimus are supposed to be the same size since Ginrai was meant to be a new body for Optimus.
Takara Tomy Missing Link C-01 Optimus Prime Toy Version w/ Trailer
Grahf: I am just not understanding the love this is getting. This was literally the worst nightmare of the vocal majority of the fanbase about 20 years ago. Now people are loving it? What is going on here? I guess they all flipped on the idea like I did. I would've loved this back then but now I think it's a huge waste.

I guarantee these won't sell just as the official reissues every single fucking time they push those down our throats. Everyone claims to like them but then nobody actually gets them until they hit clearance. I fully expect this overpriced nonsense to shelfwarm online stores. G1 reissues are already double the price they should be. This is double that. Inflation isn't THAT bad damn.
TransArt BWM-09B TransMetal Ravage Black Version
Grahf: Ravage looks good. I mean Shadow Panther. No, I mean Tripredacus Agent. Yes, this is Tripredacus Agent.

We all know both Shadow Panther and Tripredacus Agent were both based on Ravage. So again, Ravage looks good. And far better than the actual Transmetal Ravage figure. Well, anything is better than that and it's one of the only figures I ever regretted purchasing. Yeah it's still a TransArt figure but it sucks so much. I let myself get caught up in the BW Ravage crazy with Hasbro making one too as well as making Shadow Panther as well.

Regardless, I already have TM2 Cheetor and it's fairly impressive. Not perfect by any means but still really good. So this will just be more of the same in a beautiful black, silver and gold color scheme.

I really would love it if they do some toy only designs at some point. Jawbreaker, Scourge, Sonar, Ramulus, Torca, Jetstorm, TM Airazor, Magnaboss, Magmatron, Galvatron, Tripredacus, Big Convoy and more would be amazing.
[Pre-Order] DNA Design DK-45 Legacy Armada Optimus Prime Upgrade Kit
Grahf: This set got absolutely roasted when they revealed it on Facebook. It's horrible. How are so many people in this comments section going on about how great it is and how it does so much?

The only good or useful parts here are the door fillers for the truck cab and the front skirt for super mode...well, if the gold color actually matched that is.

The flaps that cover the super mode hands in truck mode can't be used in conjunction with the trailer. So they're actually useless about 90% of the time as who really will display Optimus without his trailer? The trailer is what's needed for super mode. It's not useless like the G1 and G2 trailers or even the trailer for Rodimus. This is one figure that will always be with its trailer. So there's no need to cover the hands in truck mode as the trailer will do that for you. So all these flaps do is make the super mode shoulders look like shit AND block the 5mm ports up there to do it. So no potential Minicon or Micromaster compatibility up there anymore. Oh and the flaps only hover over the hands which looks just as silly as just having the hands there. Maybe if the hands were smaller top to bottom and the flaps went down into the recessed area over the hands then it would look good. That way they could also be utilized with the trailer. They'd still look stupid on the super mode shoulders though.

The hands are barely more articulated as there's only the one knuckle joint in each finger. There's no secondary or tertiary joints to point the fingers straight and the thumb has very limited articulation. They also have the tab and slot connection to hold weapons which doesn't always work. Sure there's to adapters for it but why not try to make them like Jetfire to begin with? Hasbro already had a good thing there and didn't use it for this.

The chest piece is outright stupid looking. It also required the whole old chest to be used on top of this instead of just the removable Autobot badge. And what utility do we get from all that needlessly extra nonsense layered onto the chest? Two little flaps that kind of sort of hide the smaller robot hands in cab mode but also make the back of the cab even worse looking in the process not to mention how goofy the top of the cab now looks.

The feet flaps are okay. I just wish that the blue parts had something molded into the bottom of them like the black parts. This way when in truck mode, the blue blocks on the sides of the trailer could've been missile launchers or guns or something. But really though, who wanted this to be taller except for that one guy in these comments? Armada Optimus prime is too tall for their already established scale as it is just like Galvatron was. He should've been the size of Star Saber, Super Ginrai and SS Ultra Magnus but Optimus is taller as it is stock, he doesn't need to be any taller still.

They replaced the rear flap for the super mode. That's great! That area is probably the only real problem with the figure. However they somehow made it look just as bad but in a different way though. Why have those two flaps go to the sides to hide behind the thighs? Why not just have them flip around to the back on a double hinge system to get them behind the rest of the rear flap? This way they're completely out of the way instead of trying, and failing, to hide behind the legs. It's just such a stupid choice.

The gun. Oh the gun. It's nice that there's a gun extension. Apparently that's something that almost every kit for this thinks needs to be addressed. However it's so long that it's its own gun. They made the gun too long now. But that's fine since you can still use it as a separate gun. It's just that you might as well get a better looking gun at that point and there are many out there like the extra Over-Run Minicon I have for him or the oversized Ion Blaster from the Centurion set that's way too big for Earthrise Prime or one of the other guns for this that was made. Well what else does it do? Oh it allows the absolute worst part of the figure to attach to it to make the gun look like it has a bookcase under it. Look, you already replaced the rear flap, why not replace that stupid missile launcher flap sandwich hitch thing too so that it converts into the gun extension instead of making a gun extension that accommodates that stupid looking mess of flaps. This is far worse than trying to make the Motormaster base mode tower into a weapon for Menasor. Just replace the fucking things.

There are better kits out there already than this. Ones that do more with the parts provided or have increased articulation and usability.

I was waiting to see what DNA would do with this. I like their SS RotB Scourge kit and their SS GE Optimus kit as well as their Animated Prowl kit fo the most part. So I thought they were back on track to making good kits again finally but this is just a mess of unneeded parts that are badly color matched. Such a shame that there's so many pieces here that ultimately do nothing.

Senguie: I agree with what you say, I was hoping they made the super mode hands more like what they did with Menasor. but this seems a lot of useless fluff. I feel that they really had to search for issues to improve. and then only find SOME nitpicks of what could be improved. I only want improved hands. but I have no clue if there are other upgrade kits out there for that.

Grahf: Let's start simple with a telescopic gun replacement: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285425740474?hash=item4274b32aba:g:F7AAAOSwoMFk1miN

Fairly self explanatory. It's a new gun with a barrel that gets longer for super mode. Retains the ports on the sides for the smokestack guns. Has extra paint.

Now to move onto a little more including the super mode hands you were asking about.: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285334358194?hash=item426f40c8b2:g:PKUAAOSwoVJkkbR~

This is three kits in one set. Toe fillers for the super mode. A new long gun but in grey with a large Over-Run but with only the jet and gun modes and not the robot mode. Then the hands for super mode you were looking for. The fingers don't splay outward as with the DNA fingers but at least they have a secondary knuckle joint on the fingers. Also only the index finger is separate. The thumb looks just as limited as the one on the DNA hands. There are multiple purchase options here.

Finally the biggest kit of the three: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285436267615?hash=item427553cc5f:g:8d4AAOSwVtBk34RH

This has the toe fillers but each side is one piece instead of two each. It also has the door fillers for the truck cab like the DNA kit. There's a gun barrel extension for the stock gun. Controversially, there are new hands for the smaller figure that kind of does something to try and hide them for the other modes. These smaller hands do open though so that he can kind of hold the matrix at least. The last thing is pretty cool and that's brand new thighs for the smaller robot/biceps for the super mode. These transform to make the thighs longer for the smaller robot and makes the biceps longer for the super mode. They can then shorten back down so as to not make the truck cab any longer similar to the leg kits for Siege/Netflix/Kingdom/Shattered Glass/Tenseg leader class Ultra Magnus/Optimus Prime. But if someone was to maybe make new longer and more accurate skirt armor for the smaller robot/super mode shoulder armor then that could work with this too without needing to shrink the legs back down for cab mode. I've seen people say that they wanted longer shoulder armor for the super mode but that would require longer biceps as well to accommodate them in truck mode so this is one step in that direction.

My main problem with this DNA set is that they did a quarter measure addressing and replacing the only actual problem with the figure and that's the back skirt and trailer hitch area. If they went that much out of the way to replace the back skirt then why not make it so that the flaps folded up and out of the way instead of moving them awkwardly behind the legs? And then why try to incorporate the stupid trailer hitch thing instead of replacing it with something that can turn into its own gun, make it an actual good looking extension to the stock gun and/or also make it a decent looking turret for base mode. Instead they stack a set of stairs to the bottom of the way too long gun with the piece. That piece needed to be replaced and put away in a parts bag, not put front and center in a stupid way to draw more attention to it.
Modfans AL01W Path of Transfiguration Roller IDW Version
Grahf: Shouldn't these be getting cheaper with each release not more expensive? I just find it a bit odd that's it's $10 more than the other two versions.

For what it is it's still cheap but the entire draw of these Modfans releases for me IS that they're cheap, especially when compared to the ever inflating price of most third party figures. Had this been a release from other companies I could easily see at least an $80 tag on it but no higher than $100. So I hope they don't go the Maas Toys route with a cheap first release and then try to charge going rate for their next releases. I do still want those Mass Toys Tetrajets though but boy am I glad I didn't do that funding crap.

I have the other two and this was preordered and is now waiting on me to finish my order. So I think I'll still get this. Begrudgingly, but I'll get it. I guess that makes up for me getting one of them for free from my points. So it balances out a bit kind of sort of.
TransArt BWM-10 TransMetal Dinobot II
Grahf: At this rate it's going to be second quarter of 2024. I mean, it's well past second quarter of 2023.

The new prototype pics look good though. The official sizes of this and Transmetal Megatron indicate that this is perhaps a tad too short. Megatron is 10.24 inches and this is listed at 10.04 inches. They should be at least the same height with Dinobot II being maybe a bit taller at the top of the head horns for Dinobot II.

It should be fine though as this is still going to be a big boi.

I really wish there were more than three/five (Are Megatron and Tigerhawk REALLY Transmetal 2 on the show? They were in the toyline at least) Transmetal 2s on the show. They're such good designs yet we'll probably never get any decent updates of most of them. I'll take more regular Transmetals too. Just hurry up and do non-show characters already...other than the redecos that is. Arcee, Tripredacus Agent, Labrat, Packrat and Nemesis optimal Optimus? are fine and all but I mean the other non-show Transmetals like Waspinator, Scavenger/Inferno, Rhinox, AIRAZOR, Terrorsaur, Sonar, Jawbreaker, Scourge, Ramulus and the rest.

Once we have Transmetal Rhinox, Terrorsaur and Airazor, they can make Unicron's Horsemen along with Transmetal Cheetor all based on the Armada retools. I really want to bolster Unicron's minions along with Windrazor...regardless of who makes him from Silverbolt.
XTransbots MX-4 Abaddon Galvatron
Grahf: Estimated to release in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The fourth quarter of 2023 confirmed that that was a lie.
[Pre-Order] Newage H61R Tremors Seaspray
Grahf: Prototype Seaspray colors from that one Japanese toy advertisement? Just like their Botcon Octopunch and 2007 Storm Surge (aka SG Seaspray), I love the thought behind these, I just don't collect these style figures.

Picture of the aforementioned advertisement: tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/4/48/Ehobbygobotscatalog.jpg

This is where Bad Boy, Pathfinder and Nacelle got their colors from. Also seen are a red Beachcomber, a black and white Astrotrain that was released in Japan and even got a reissue, Skywarp with red Dirge wings and Starscream with red Ramjet wings as well as his weapons.

It's such a shame that Galaxy Shuttle didn't come with the Astrotrain head and a sticker sheet as well in order to homage this version of Astrotrain. Not that Galaxy Shuttle needed help selling more figures though.
FansHobby MB-15C Naval Commander Armada Optimus Prime Shattered Glass Version
Grahf: While the G1 SG Optimus Prime colors look good on Armada Optimus Prime, this is dumb. There are at least two other decos they could do before dipping into things that don't exist. Armada Optimus is NOT G1 Optimus. They would have different Shattered Glass colors.

There's the Armada Optimus with the gold cab instead of red, the Costco colors and technically the Cybertron Deluxe Optimus Prime colors (Red and Black that looks like Cybertron Galaxy Force colors) that could also be done. Maybe even the all shiny gold lucky draw as well. Hell, the Costco colors could be the SG colors for Armada Optimus. Oh and going back to the smaller deluxe Armada Optimus Prime mold, there were even G1 colors for that so there's another option. So that's five other decos that actually exist for an additional version of Armada Optimus Prime without having to go for a deco like this that has no basis.
