[Pre-Order] Unix Square Combot Transformers Starscream Licensed Convertable Figures
Grahf: Partsforming "model kits".

These are not fully transforming action figures.

So while cool, these aren't going to be quite as cool as the similar Machine Robo converting 'model kits' from MegaHouse. Those don't really partsform in the traditional sense. Sure there's things like Cy-Kill's engine block that needs to be partsformed or Fidor's larger optional cockpit piece but that's really it. They don't need to be disassembled and reassembled between modes like these will.

So partially completed model kits that we will need to 'complete' by popping the already assembled arms, legs and other things onto the already assembled torso. They will have multiple points of articulation and can be disassembled and then reassembled into alt mode.

But those are the hoops that are needed to go through with the Transformers brand licence. Model kits to get around being labeled action figures and partsforming to convert to get around actual converting.

I'll get Starscream depending on price and maybe Megatron but probably not Optimus. Seen Optimus in truck mode and I'm not really interested. For starters it's 'G1' Optimus and he's just so overdone and boring now and also that truck mode looks kinda like Classics deluxe Optimus.
DNA Design DK-46DX Upgrade Kits for SS-101 Scourge
Grahf: This is the parts from DK-46 along with the Scourge parts from DK-49 but without the claw arm.

Owning these pieces I can safely say that I don't think this isn't worth it. Especially for the price they're charging for this without the claw arm. I really couldn't care less about the little disc thing that he shot at Airazor but that doesn't come with this either as it works with the claw arm.

The neck piece doesn't seem to want to connect to the ball peg of Scourge. Also the head is way too loose on its own neck joint. My usual way of using water based polyurethane to thicken up the joints didn't help either of these.

The mask doesn't stay on well either. Water based polyurethane did help here.

The shoulders are a bitch to get into position for truck mode.

The thigh fillers fall out easily but this can be fixed easily or just glued down.Water based polyurethane did help here.

The new inner chest with rib cage pieces sucks. Those rib cages pieces get in the way of transformation. The one on the figure's left side really gets in the way when moving the wheels and front bumper around. It can and most likely will just pop off the flat headed pin it's on as well.

You lose weapons storage with this kit. And their blade also has nowhere to store.

I doubt this will come with the bonus translucent blue right hand, blue sword and especially red claw. Those pieces are insanely stupid anyway.

Also, since the tabs those new front pieces connect to are prone to breaking, you might have to straight up glue those new pieces on.

This kit is listed at $55 other places. I feel that it's too much for what's here. Getting both sets normally isn't a great deal either though. While the parts aren't bad, I feel these are overpriced for what little is actually being offered especially without the claw arm. There's not one but two knockoffs out there that come with built in upgrades for only around $25. You're probably better off just getting one of those instead...if they're still available. This is coming from someone who has the Hasbro version and all three knockoff versions as well as most of the upgrades for them. Yes that's right, I have four Scourge and every one of them has some sort of aftermarket piece on it.

Oh and be warned, this new neck won't fit on the Black Mamba KO. The rest of the kit works fine on it though. The BMB neck ball peg is larger than stock and is one of the few things they changed for their version.

There was also something wonky with the left arm peg for one or two of the KOs compared to the original. I remember having to modify one of them to use the cannon arm on one of the other ones. All I did was cut off the "key" on the peg to turn it into a standard 5mm peg though. So nothing major. It's just that little rectangle on the side of the peg was too big to use some of the KO arms with.
Planet X PX-05M Quirinus Slug Metallic Version
Starbuck: The first time I've seen this guy up for sale (is he a re-release or brand new?) and he looks amazing. its also cool to see a set of dinobots that is neither legends or MP for a change (judging by the size these would go perfectly with the recently released gamerverse figures). Both modes look outstanding - I'm interested to see the price but I'm guessing it will be somewhere in the same region as the others?
Grahf: This is a brand new deco option for a figure released several (7-10) years ago now they're also reissuing the original deco version as well. These are indeed their own scale too and not so called legends or supposed Masterpiece scales. They're somewhat to scale with the Hasbro Generations Fall of Cybertron figures from 11 to 12 years ago...which would also mean they kinda scale with the current Generations Studio Series Gamer Edition figures as well. And yes, the price would mostly match some of their other releases at around the $100ish mark. Planet X wasn't very expensive to begin with for the size and quality of the figures they produce. I have all six (yes six as they made Paddles as well) of their Fall of Cybertron Dinobots. They're all really cool looking and have very interesting transformations. They're also VERY pointy. I also have their Starscream, Megatron, Star Saber and Deathsaurus. Oh and their Insecticons too. I'd have more but I procrastinate and forget to pick things up in a timely fashion so I just kinda forgot to get them. The only ones I don't recommend are the Insecticons. Their smaller size doesn't work well with Planet X's design scheme and they're prone to breakage. My Kickback broke somewhere very quickly. Other than that I had a small amature for one of Megatron's "wings" break as well but it can still stay on in both modes. That's about all the problems I had with their releases. Well, other than the overuse of metal leading to loose joints on Star Saber.
XTransbots MX-61T Ballistic Misfire Youth Version
Grahf: Why are people excited for this? It's Xtransbots.

I really don't understand how a company that has almost 90% of their figures break or have other problems still get so much love and excitement for their offerings.

I can't wait until I see all the reviews of this that say that it broke it three places and that there are problems moving pieces past other pieces and that there isn't actually a (insert part of choice here like foot/arm) and that it's just panels folded together with zero tension and that nothing tabs together and that the joints are too loose but still somehow give it 5 stars because it's the only Misfire on the market.

Time after time after time after time people are burned by this company. Yet people still get their stuff. You are the problem. Insert Michael Jordan meme here: Stop it, get some help.

I mean I get it, all Transformers collectors are masochists but damn man. Some of you Xtransbots collectors must really hate yourselves.

But I mean we won't know about this figure for sure for another 5 years or so. This is going to be one of those "endless preorders" that won't see the light of day anytime soon. There's still the Omnibots that aren't done and their redecos. Punch/Counterpunch redecos. Headmaster Jrs. Deathsaurus. Throttlebots. Constructicons. Scoop. Galvatron. Windcharger and redecos. Protectobots. Battlecharger redecos. Autobot X. Perceptor and redecos. Orion Pax. Wheelie. New Rodimus and redecos. Ironhide and Ratchet. So maybe it would be more like 8 years before this comes out.

I'll just keep putting it back up. Delete it all you want.

Grim Luck: xtransbots are unique looking while fanstoys looks generic.

Grahf: Not talking about Fanstoys. Talking about Xtransbots and their horrible track record of figures that have a bunch of problems or break right away.
TFC Toys S-05 Satan Jakiro Hun-Grrr
Grahf: Wow. It looks like they're resurrecting this one. TFC is moving from insanely overpriced zombie reissues to finishing sets. I'm sure the dozens of people who still care about having the limbs without a torso are thrilled. The rest of us though...

I think I will.
[Pre-Order] Mastermind Creations Ocular Max Infinity Finity IF-02 Stray First Edtion Drift
Grahf: Day after day I'm more confused
Yet I look for the light through the pourin' rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
And I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame?
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away

Beginnin' to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
Now I'm countin' on you to carry me through
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away
Hey, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away

And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
A guitar's comin' through to soothe me
Thanks for the joy that you've given me
I want you to know I believe in your song
And rhythm and rhyme and harmony
You've helped me along, makin' me strong
Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away

Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away

Ho, ho, oh-ho, yeah
Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul (free my soul)
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away
Yeah, hey, hey, yeah
Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock 'n' roll and drift away
Na, na, now won't ya
Won't ya take me?
Whoa-ho, take me
NewAge S-01EX Romulus Megatron
Grahf: "Despite how ugly the deco is, I do have a soft spot for G1 toy colors Megatron. There's just something about it that I like. I think it's that weird yellow toned grey or whatever shade that is. Normally I'd hate it but on G1 Megatron, it's sort of...comforting...in a way.

However the figure itself is still ugly and over yet also somehow under engineered and the mold fails at the one thing it was meant to do and that was to pair with SS86 Optimus.

Even if this was sized properly to SS86 Optimus I still wouldn't get it. The aesthetics are off making it ugly like I already mentioned. Too many panels and hinges and the shoulders and forearms are so weird looking in their shapes. They got the thighs (from the front) and the rest of the legs right proportionally for the most part, as well as maybe the torso but all those panels and hinges are burying the design taking it aesthetically far away from anything that's supposed to stand next to SS86 Optimus as an equal.

This mold would've been a fine design for CHUG...13 years ago when we needed something to stand next to Classics Optimus and we were just starting to get figures that did. By modern CHUG standards, especially with SS86 Optimus and Magnus, this is even further off. Maybe if they had just upsized their smaller Megatron as it's the much cleaner design overall.

Then there's the price. Why are they still hiding the price? Just put the price up already. It's going to be over $160 so just rip the bandage off already. I really doubt it would be lower than that. I'll be surprised if it is."
NewAge S-01 Romulus Megatron
Grahf: The price is far lower than I was expecting. That's not a horrible price actually. The design is still horrible with all the visible hinges everywhere and wonky arm proportions but at least it's not stupidly expensive like I was expecting based on their other figures. However and as others said already, this should come with the silencer and stock at this price.

The price on this makes me question the prices on their so called legends scale products though.

Regardless, this doesn't scale with SS86 Optimus nor does it compare aesthetically due to the aforementioned hinges everywhere and wonky arms and hands. So this is a fail ultimately.
Unix Square Combot Transformers Optimus Prime Licensed Convertable Figures
Grahf: What's that?

I never commented on this one?

Yeah well, compared to the Megatron and Starscream, Optimus here is rather boring. Sure they changed up the design a bit but it's still 100% Optimus Prime.

Starscream looking like a Gundam.

Megatron looking like Immorticon crossed with a mech from Front Mission or Armored Core.

Then there's Optimus just looking like Optimus.
