[Pre-Order] Cang-Toys CT-Longyan 03 Breakhorn Slag
Grahf: Oh hey it's a cross between the Musha and Providence Gundams.

That's pretty cool.

Shame the colors look bad on these. Or rather, at least their Snarl currently.

Their Predacons looking like they should color wise, why not their Dinobots?

But it's not so much even that though, the shades just look...off putting. It's not that I don't like the shades or anything, it's the shades together and in the amounts they're in or something. The color balance is off. Too much gold for that shade of silver and red. Maybe if the silver was darker and the red brighter? Or just have less gold and more black and red instead?
Iron Factory IF-EX20G Wing of Tyrant MP-11A Acidstorm
Grahf: You know what's kinda bugging me right now?

The lack of upgrades for the Studio Series 86 as well as the Legacy Junkions.

There's all of two alternate chest molds available for the SS86 mold. They're both for Wreck Gar only and one of which is out of print.

There's only one alternate option for wheels for the SS86 mold and they're expensive as fuck for no reason. I just want some regular wheel alternative, not some comically oversized ATV like wheels for $40+ a fucking set.

Only one new head that was made for the SS86 mold. That head is also out of print. Or rather, half of it is. You can still get half of it in another color but not the whole set. What the fuck was that idiot at Nonnef thinking by making the head in another color but not giving you the whole fucking head in the kit while also keeping this incomplete kit still available for purchase.

The Legacy boys get nothing other than reproductions of Scraphook's weapons. That's it. Not a single piece to help them combine or anything else. Who am I kidding about that though, nobody ever made anything for the Weaponizers, Modulators or Fossilizers before them to help with combined modes either.

Where's the imagination in this hobby lately? Everything is just redecos and reissues and straight knockoffs. Anytime something is done differently, it sells well but is seemingly never followed up on.

However I do like Acid Storm's colors despite him being just another uninspired redeco.

Didn't think I'd spin that around to the figure did you?

Starbuck: Great comment! I respect your point and agree with a lot but that last sentence really cracked me up lol

Grahf: Oh and I did find two more chest pieces and heads for the SS86 Junkions. Again though, only for Wreck Gar. They were on Shapeways but under Wreckguar and Wreckguard and not Wreck Gar or Junkion they didn't show up in any of my previous searches. I'm so tired of Shapeways and the uploader's incessant need to either keep what their item is a secret by not telling you what it is or does or what figure it's even for and their need to make up stupid names for everything instead of just using the character's real name. Hasbro is NOT checking Shapeways to see if someone used one of their copyrighted names. These aren't third party figures we're talking about here. They're mostly just little upgrade parts. Hasbro doesn't care so just use the name of the figure the parts are for. Tell us what they do and maybe even have pictures up. And make them available in every color or print style Shapeways offers instead of just having it locked to one or two choices. I had to ask the guy who did the alternate side missile pod for Siege Astrotrain to allow it to be printed in red. He did but why lock it to black only to begin with? Let them be printed in every color and maybe people would get a pair of them for other figures.
MechFansToys Headmasters Gift Sets of 7 Reissue
Grahf: It always bothered me that Hasbro never made a fourth standard Headmaster for the Decepticons. Not to mention a sixth standard Decepticon Targetmaster. Or a third Powermaster Decepticon either. Or rather, also a fourth Powermaster as well to go against PMOP.

This was the time when they liked to make even amounts of Autobots and Decepticons but all three of these sublines are uneven in favor of the Autobots.

4 vs 3 standard Targetmasters.

3 vs 2 standard Powermasters not counting PMOP. Darkwing and Dreadwind can combine though so there's that. Also Doubledealer exists but he's both an Autobot and a Decepticon.

6 vs 5 standard Targetmasters. 3 vs 3 if you count the new toys. But the Autobots have Blurr, Kup and Hot Rod as Targetmasters and the Decepticons had Cyclonus and Scourge but not a third. Not that there were many other options to choose from though.

Anyway, these do look good. I'm just tired of seeing these seven. I'd like to see the Headmaster Jr.s done, especially the three Decepticons. Maybe even the Autobot Double Targetmasters. Like, when was the last time you seen Squeezeplay or Landfill get a full update? What about the Sparkabots and Firecons? Give me some deep cuts.

$18 a piece isn't too bad though.
Takara Tomy Masterpiece Gattai MPG-06S Kaen w/ Raiden Accessory
Grahf: I got 1, 2 and 3 on sale at Pulse for cheap. They put 4 up for sale and then marked it out of stock at the same time. They magically came back in stock after the sale was over. 5 and 6 have not been on sale at Pulse yet. But then Amiami listed 4, 5 and 6 for super cheap and I picked up all three. Used but used from Amiami might as well be new since they tend to downplay how good things are in their very limited used item description rating system. I've gotten quite a few things listed as opened and used yet they were pretty much still sealed and untouched. I would imagine these will be no different.

Anyway though, once they get in I'll be able to see for myself just what this combiner is really like. There's a lot of opinions out there on them but I haven't paid much attention to them and will make my own decision once they're in hand. However I do know for certain that I don't like the stubby torso and I hate the way the side things look on the ankles. Those were very poorly done. The G1 figures did the ankle kibble well as they're just wing gun things instead of blocks of train parts that barely look as though they're holding on.

I look forward to when 7 and 8 go on sale so I can get those additional pieces for the torso and chest. The new torso piece at least helps make the combined torso look better. The new chest and head pieces look cool too. Shame the shade of yellow on 7 and 8, regardless of accuracy, make me think they're just old white figures that have been out in the sun for too long and yellowed like most of the G1 Jetfire figures you see on Ebay.
Grahf: Question to who downvoted my comment; why? I'm used to downvotes, especially here, but I don't think I said anything that could possibly be downvoted on with that comment. Do you just not like reading long winded comments? Do you not like when people make up their own minds instead of going with the supposed general consensus? Are you mad that I paid about $500 for a set that people paid upwards of $900 for because I'm patient and knew when and where to get them all for almost half price each? Are you mad that I said that numbers 7 and 8 look like they've gone through photodegradation? It's just odd and I'm slightly curious as I actually didn't say much of anything in those three paragraphs.
DX9 Mini 04 God Ginrai
Grahf: So they pushed this preorder out early to try and steal a bit of the thunder from the rumored official Masterpiece Ginrai.

But uh...this would be Super Ginrai, not God Ginrai.
MetaGate G-02 Ming Jiang Yellow Version
Grahf: This really should've come with a Drift head. I mean, how do you do Drift in orange and have it not be RiD 2015 Drift too? He at least turns into a car that looks like this too. Bludgeon has never been a car or motorcycle.

But for $50 though? I might not mind so much.
Dr.Wu Inferno & Grapple Grey Model Version
Grahf: There's a market for grey scale Transformers?

I guess not, these are on discount.

There's still a few figures they could do. Artfire first and foremost. But then they can go do a G1ified version of Cybertron Mudflap (baby blue like Hot Spot), 2007 Mudflap (yellow like Erector) as well as the unreleased Cybertron Landslide or rather, at least one of his four proposed decos. Maybe even Animated Mudbuster or red Bulkhead too for their Bulkhead retool.

That's cute, these are almost scaled properly to the core class Dinobots. Wait, is that Legacy Jolt? Damn these are tiny. I never paid much attention to these so I didn't realize just how small these Dr. Wu figures were. I only got the mini cassette combiners so far and a few of those little Trypticubes.
TransArt BWM-10 TransMetal Dinobot II
Grahf: Yeah watched the video of the hopefully not yet final sample earlier today.

Not really impressed so far.

What a floppy mess. The sides of the chest don't lock onto the torso securely so they pop off when manipulating the arms. The waist joints are all floppy, side to side and front to back. Outward hip joints are not ratcheted and are floppy. Forward hip joints are ratcheted but still floppy. Limited outward shoulder movement due to the weird shoulder pad transformation setup. Ends up as one of those bots that hit themselves in the head with their shoulder pads as well due to the secondary shoulder joint where your'e getting the most movement from. Dino neck joint comes apart easily and are loose otherwise. When there are locking points, some are oddly designed and might not be able to be secured without tools. Janky transformation parts. Maybe a few too many panels in dino mode that might not have locking points.

However, it looks good. Arm and leg extensions are brilliantly designed and need to be utilized on more figures from every company moving forward. Complete new figure designed from the ground up sharing nothing with the original figure other than the design inspiration. Looks to be the right size scale wise. He's bigger than MP Dinobot and stands head to head with their Transmetal Megatron. So is rather large for such a lanky figure. Tail looks and works well. Arms, other than the somewhat limited outward motion, look and work well. Legs other, than the hips, look and work well.

Let's hope that Mangmotion's feedback leads to something being done. It's already a year late, might as well put it back in the oven for another six months or so to iron out those last few kinks. It would be really bad for Transart if they released this in the state shown in the video. I know how to tighten up joints but damn, that's way too much looseness to have to fix myself. Not that I should have to fix any looseness but tolerances can vary and each person has their own preferences on joint tolerances. If they come back in a few months with a better way to lock the sides on the chest together better and tighten up all the joints then it should be good to go. The shoulders are fine I guess, I would just rather see a different way to go about getting 90 degree and further motion out of them than a system that bashes the shoulder pads into the head.

I just don't like it when a mid to bad figure is released but since it's one of the only versions of that character ever made that people feel obligated to get it due to that. It gives the wrong message to these companies in that they can infer that they can get away with bad designs. They'll buy them anyway as it's the only one on the market and most likely will be the only one for years to come so it's either this crap figure or nothing. For me, I'd rather have nothing but others seem to still be buying those bad figures despite knowing that the company puts out shit figures. Then they complain about it. You knew ahead of time that they were going to be bad yet you still bought them. Whatever.
Robot Toys RT-02 Tyrant Beast Wars: Transformer Megatron
Grahf: So $34.99. Okay, then not stupidly overpriced for no reason.

For the love of Primus and the Oracle can someone make more Airazor figures already? Takara might not do it now with all the bullshit with the MP line. No other company seems to want to tackle her. There was that one OSKO of the Kingdom figure and that was it other than the Hasbro figures of three deluxe figures and a Battlemaster. Oh and LiJiang did one to go with their Primal but it's not being sold here so I had to get it elsewhere.  They also made Cheetor and Rhinox. They all look cool like their Primal but I only grabbed Airazor.

Grahf: Okay hold up. I wasn't sure at first but made this comment anyway. I'm fairly certain that the video I watched from Mangmotion about the figure I'm talking about is NOT the Transart figure. It's difficult to tell due to the lack of details seen in the early prototype in the pictures. That and I haven't heard of another Transmetal 2 Dinobot being made let alone that close to release. So apologies for any confusion but it seems other fell for this as well.
