FansToys FT-32A Gehry Scrapper
Material: ABS
Heights: Unknown
Main Body Display
▼Height Comparison: The humanoid form is approximately 23 cm tall.
Front View
▼The body features a full metallic paint finish with a solid coating, giving it an excellent glossy appearance. The product feels heavier compared to other products of similar size, likely due to the increased use of alloy parts. This is presumably in preparation for the Devastator combination, where Scrapper functions as a leg and plays a load-bearing role.
▼Back View
Detail Display
▼The head sculpt’s color separation and three-dimensional design are outstanding. The high-gloss paint on the eyes is particularly striking.
▼Top Details
▼The chest features various color separations and small details, aiming to faithfully replicate the G1 animation. The contours are largely consistent.
▼The back is painted green instead of the purple seen in the animation, likely to accommodate the combination mode. The side design of the backpack appears somewhat cluttered.
▼Backpack Details
▼Combination parts can be attached to the back in humanoid mode.
▼The top hooks are used for attachment.
▼Appearance after installation.
▼Arm Details
▼The hands are fully articulated with five fingers and feature slots for stable weapon holding. The gun is painted with metallic paint.
▼A horn accessory is also included, made of metal with an electroplated finish.
▼Lower Body Details
The thighs have been slightly modified compared to the animation design. They are thickened for a more natural transition, giving an overall square and solid look.
▼Tires
▼The tires are made of rubber, and the rims are electroplated. They rotate very smoothly.
▼Foot Details
▼Articulation Display
▼Head Tilt Up
▼360° Horizontal Rotation
▼The hip joint allows for a 90-degree bend.
▼The skirt armor can lift up to 90 degrees.
▼Arm Lift and Rotation.
▼Arm Bend.
▼Upper Arm 360° Horizontal Rotation.
▼Leg Kick Forward Over 90 Degrees.
▼Side Kick is Slightly Obstructed.
▼Limited Backward Kick Range.
▼The pull-down hip joint improves leg articulation.
▼Knee articulation includes anti-gap measures when bending.
▼The front of the foot can bend.
▼The side pivot provides good ground contact.
▼Scrapper Mode
Height Comparison
▼The front half of the vehicle mode feels somewhat cluttered and not particularly neat.
▼The rear design of the vehicle is much more complete, performing better than the front section.
▼From the side view, there are no issues with the chassis dragging on the ground.
▼Dump Bed Details
▼The mechanical arm can bend.

▼Bottom Details
▼The separate combination part can also be attached in vehicle mode, but the cabin needs to be pushed forward first to create space.

Combination Mode Display
▼This is not a fully integrated transformation and requires the combination parts shown above. It is recommended to transform from humanoid mode, as it is much simpler. The transformation process involves many locking structures that are quite stable with no looseness, which is crucial for its role as a load-bearing leg.
▼Finally, after completing the fearless combiners, FT has also started accelerating the production of subsequent combiner figures. This time, I’ll be sharing my play experience with the FT32A Bulldozer. As for the packaging, it continues with the same traditional design style, making it easy to recognize FT-branded products at a glance. The inner packaging still uses foam layers to provide the best protection for the toy.
The paper materials include a manual and character card, and this time the manual covers the method for the combiner transformation.
▼Overall, the robot mode seems a bit wider compared to its animated counterpart, giving off a bit of an ’86 toy vibe. The toy is entirely painted with metallic green, and due to the reflective finish, it looks slightly yellowish, but there is still a noticeable difference from the green in the animation. From the front, the robot looks very imposing, while the back features the folded wheels and shovel on the lower back. I think having a backpack is acceptable, but because of the parts on the back, the waist articulation is lost, which would have been movable otherwise.
▼There aren’t many accessories included: just the weapon, a coronation horn, and combiner parts. The coronation horn is made entirely of metal, and the electroplating details are quite well done. In vehicle mode, the weapon also doubles as an exhaust pipe and integrates nicely into the vehicle’s storage.
The combiner parts are mainly designed to replicate the two wooden piles that serve as heel supports, as seen in the animation. In robot mode, these parts can be mounted without affecting the figure’s balance. Similarly, in vehicle mode, the parts can be adjusted to allow for vehicle storage, and they also fill the gap in the cockpit.
▼The vehicle transformation takes about three minutes for the legs and around half an hour for the upper body. There are no major difficulties, but you need to find the right angle to fit the arms in place. When pushing the arms in, pay attention to the gaps in the back’s grooves, especially after bending the elbow joint. The entire upper arm needs to be positioned above the purple waist part for the shoulder to fit properly.
There will inevitably be some parts that rub or collide against each other, so please adjust them patiently. The shovel arm is connected with a double joint, and it’s important to position the joints as shown in the picture. Otherwise, the shovel arms will end up in a V-shape.
▼The large rubber tires make the bulldozer roll very smoothly. The shovel arm has multiple points of articulation, allowing for adjustments based on different play styles. The size of the shovel is big enough to fit a Bumblebee figure inside without any issues.
▼The combiner mode can be said to faithfully replicate the animation’s design in great detail. The transformation structure also breaks away from the traditional toy design where the bulldozer’s arms form the heels. Instead, the arms secure the shovel, and the heels are entirely formed by additional parts. The arms and shovel are fixed in place with multi-dimensional clips, providing complete structural reliability. The parts connect to the main toy through pegs and side clamps, ensuring the stability of the combiner mode.
You can tell it’s a combiner structure by looking at the I-beam slot at the top. In terms of overall height, if you compare it to the recently popular Blitzwing, it’s still quite massive.
▼This time, the Devastator figure features a double-jointed knee structure, and the tightness is quite solid. However, here’s a friendly tip: before bending the knee, it’s recommended to first flatten the bulldozer’s front skirt armor. After analyzing, I found that the upper joint moves fairly smoothly, but the lower joint is very tight. If you don’t flatten the skirt armor first, the thigh part will bend first when you try to move the knee, which could cause the base plate to push against the front of the skirt armor, potentially deforming some parts.
At the shoulder position of the bulldozer in robot mode, there’s a gear-like structure that connects to the ground, with a limiting bump. When you open it for the first time, you’ll need to use a bit of force. This provides good ground stability for the Devastator in future combinations.
▼Although the articulation is somewhat limited, simple posing and playing around with it are still no problem. After all, this cool bulldozer captain was every kid’s dream back in the day. The fully metal coronation horn accessory, replicating the scene from the animated movie, is quite impressive. Just be careful not to push the captain’s face mask too hard when posing!
▼Let’s do a simple comparison with the official Megatron and also take a look at some comparisons online with Starscream. It’s hard to tell whether the bulldozer is too big or Starscream is too small. When comparing it with two other members of the combiner from the same line, what do you all think of this scale?
