Dr.Wu DW-E40G Green Tank Warpath & DW-E42 Shi Fu Alpha Trion Set of 2
Grahf: Yet if there's any pair of characters I think about more as the most iconic duo than G1 Scourge and G1 Warpath, it would have to be G1 Alpha Trion and E-Hobby Treads. That is by far the most noteworthy and memorable duo in all of Transformers and GoBots fiction ever created.

Just seeing the two of them together like this is bringing back all the memories of when together they together were together doing together things together. It was the Marvel run issue number 9001 when they did the thing. You remember that right? The thing that these two did. It sure was.
Grahf: A dislike? I guess someone doesn't remember all the great things that Alpha Trion and Treads did together. Or maybe they're jealous of all the fun times they had together. Did you not have fun times with your best friend too? Don't hate.
[Pre-Order] DNA Design DK-80 Omega Commander Upgrade Kits
BLEGH: i'm not exactly sure what this is upgrading, cause honestly there's very little improvement here. on their facebook post about the kit, they said that this is only 50% of what they wanted to fix. to me it looks like they prioritised the wrong 50%...
they also said sometime in 2025 that they would be making a standalone kit for just Prime himself to fix the breakage issues, but now that we're here, DNA have told us that they didn't put the full effort into this kit, and that not only is it barely fixing anything, but it's also limited.
almost the whole thing feels unnecessary cause it's mostly in service of this fully combined Omega mode they've come up with. no super mode hands, nothing to fix Magnus' yellowing, really nothing helpful to the figure other than the chest. this kit and the last handful of kits revealed really just keep reminding me that DNA has fallen into this trap of not wanting to do anything drastic to fix the toys anymore, just slap on a bunch of new weapons or parts and call it an upgrade i guess.
it also doesn't help that hasbro doesn't want you to be able to take their toys apart tbh, but i miss when dna wasn't afraid to literally just replace the limbs of a figure that needed it.
Grahf: Indeed. I'm finding it hilarious that so many people are now begging DNA to "fix" the newly unveiled Nexus Prime by making him his own combiner frame AND his team to go with it. I'm over hear like: You want DNA to do that? Really? What from out of EVERYTHING they've made makes you think they'd be up to the task? Better to ask TDW instead. I mean their Susanoo was very poorly received from what I remember and their Wheelie sucks.
[Coming Soon] 01-Studio 01S06 Boardcon Broadside
Grahf: This will be about 16 inches tall now and not the listed height.

It's been over a year since they announced the new height, it should've been updated on the listing long ago.

Just a reminder to anyone looking to get this now that the price is listed.

It's not a bad price either. Still wanted it to be the original listed height though.

In any event, this is going to be about half the price of Fanstoys but Fanstoys won't be twice as good. This is also coming out soonish and not planned for like 2030 or whenever Fanstoys decides to theirs. They only announced theirs to mess with 01 Studio as they're insanely petty like that and have been for years.

I'm still on the fence but that price is making it tip more towards yes, than it does no.
Takara Tomy Masterpiece Gattai MPG-06 Kaen
Grahf: So little of this bulky figure is actually being used for the combined mode. Such a shame. The combined mode needs longer thighs and a longer torso.

I guess it has to do with the limitation that were probably placed on the designs in order to have these be licenced trains. I would rather have a better set overall that wasn't made from licenced trains than have a set with limitations like this. I only picked up the first two so far and I got them on sale so I can still easily back out at some point if I want.
[Pre-Order] XTransbots MX-40D Rodimus Unicronus Deathgod
Grahf: That's not Rodimus Unicronus, that's Black Rodimus Convoy. The blue chest is the giveaway. Subtle difference I know but they're not actually the same characters. This would be like saying that Nucleon Quest Super Convoy, Black Convoy and/or Nemesis Prime are the same character simply because they're all black Optimus Primes. Shattered Glass Rodimus, Rodimus Unicronus and Black Rodimus Convoy are all different characters from each other despite all being Hot Rod/Rodimus in black.

I get that it's Show Z Store just putting the name in there themselves for search functions but it is what it is. We all know why we leave these comments here and this one is no different.
Dr.Wu DW-E36S Menace King Megatron Transparent Version
Grahf: Did you know that Megatron actually has four redeco options other than the now lame and overdone, reformatting colors? And no, I don't mean a gold Megatron either as there's another two. Golden Lagoon Megatron and just gold Megatron from the last use of the original MP Megatron.

The first being the easiest. Just change the red to blue. Those are the original Takara colors for his Transformers release and the basis for Megaplex.

The second is Black Megatron. Black barrel, shins, toy helmet/animation head as well as trigger and guard parts with brown legs and hands. The rest was normal colors of chromed silver and red.

The third is Hasbro's unreleased attempt at a reissue Megatron originally intended to be named 'Lava' Megatron but was nicknamed 'Safety' Megatron due to the colors. Which are blue and orange.

The fourth is the black version of the Chrono Q Megatron. All black with the brown legs instead of just some black instead of the silver chrome.

But yeah, there's more than like two of three options for G1 Megatron redecos that you almost never see.

Dr. Wu seems to love redoing their figures into every color imaginable. Hopefully we'll see some of Megatron's other colors for a change. Even despite my dislike of inanimate object alt modes, I'll pick that NY Mets colored Megatron up without question.
Pangu Toys PT-09 Silver Samurai Cyclonus
Grahf: Now if you recognize my name you know where this is going.

Let me start by saying that I don't hate this figure by any stretch. I just hate almost everything about it lol.

So to start the figure feels super cheap. Like cheap 90's Gunpla from Toys R Us cheap (damn I'm old). Luckily it's slightly thicker plastic. But it just doesn't feel good. It almost feels as though it's close to crumbling in my hands as I manipulate it.

The hands suck. It's almost literally a sprue of Gunpla hands. Only two hands matter to me though and those are the weapon holding hands. However this figure can't hold anything meaningfully. Either the hand ports are too big or the handles for all the weapons are too small. Regardless of which, all the weapons just float around and spin in the hands. So very obnoxious.

Speaking of weapons and obnoxious things. There's no storage for ANY weapon in alt mode. Oh and the swords sit loosely in the scabbards and will just slide out. You can kinda sorta get the scabbards to plug in for jet mode and can even get the swords in but since they just slide out, you can't actually woosh the alt mode about as the swords will fall out and go flying. So all the cool weapons that this comes with can't be held and can't be utilized in alt mode. You also can't store all of them in robot mode either.

Speaking of robot mode. It's okay. However the backpack gets in the way of the shoulder wings but that's Iron Factory's fault. The articulation just isn't as useful as it may seem. It has all the articulation you'd expect but things just don't work well in a way. I'd like to move the torso back more but I can't. I'd like to move the head up more but I can't. I'd like to have the arms to the side normally but I can't due to the skirt and it's even worse if the weapons are pegged into the sides of the skirt.

The extra shoulder armor on the shoulder pads break off easily from their glue and need to be glued back on with real glue.

The 'transformation' sucks. But again, that's Iron Factory's fault. There just isn't anything satisfying about it. It reminds me of the Gundam Epyon or Wing or something. Things just kind of 'rest' places while not really locking into place. The few things that do actually lock into place don't do so well. The shoulder pads themselves don't peg in securely to the fuselage of the jet. I think they should tab in deeper from what I've seen of the IF version but this can't do that. Or rather, I don't want to apply more pressure out of fear of it crumbling in my hands. The arms barely transform for alt mode and the hands don't actually hide in the giant forearms but again, that's IF's fault. But it would've been nice if Pangu changed it since they changed quite a few other things. The legs just kinda float around and don't lock in anywhere. At least Universe 2.0 Cyclonus' legs had the arms/thrusters peg into them somewhat to hold them in place. Not so much here. Just a lame transformation leading to a lackluster jet mode.

The figure looks good at least. I like the colors even if there's two shades as someone else already mentioned. I dig the two shades. The red pops on this figure.

I'd just want better weapon integration, better transformation, better quality plastic, better alt mode, a better figure in general I guess.

Again, I don't hate this. It's just very lame overall. It looks so cool and I love the fact that it's Silver Samurai based. I even managed to track down a Loki but now I gotta suffer through this all again lol. Maybe I should've waited until this was in before purchasing the Loki lol.

So it will stand there and look nice though. It's an oversized knockoff and it's every bit a knockoff in every aspect. It's more of a novelty figure. However it's a tad expensive for an oversized knockoff (that still isn't very big as it's only deluxe sized) novelty figure. This is way more than I wanted to pay for that. What's worse is that I paid a few dollars more than even this for Loki.

Cool concept, poor execution. Partly due to Iron Factory, partly due to Pangu.

Oh and this has a "bird" mode or something. Get the fuck out of here with that shit. I'd rather just have the front landing gear instead of a beak/jaw thing. Soaring Raven Gundam this is not. Which is a shame because G Gundam is best Gundam.

And today is rounding down day. So this is a 2.5 out of 5 and not a 2. But I feel as though giving 3 stars would've been unfair and misleading.

Grahf: Wow what a deal! A whole ten dollars off for an absolutely crippling to both modes breakage. I sure am kicking myself now for having purchased the Transart figure the other day at full price when I could've waited just a few more days and landed this beaut.

I've heard bad things about this one but is this a standard thing for this one? I would still like to get this one too as it does do a few things I do like.
4th Party KC-01 Optimus Prime Toy Version w/ Trailer
Grahf: That's a higher price than what I was expecting. But the same can be said about the original.

I don't think this is going to change anyone's mind though. If they didn't want it before, this price is still too high.

For those that did want it but thought the real one was priced too high, then this might get them to buy it though.

It's more than half the price of the original. I also don't like this or the concept behind it. So this is still too much for me. Maybe about about $45 I'd pick it up for the novelty and then wish I got something else instead. But now I can skip that step and just get something else.

I just remember certain forums that were dreading and complaining about things that were just "G1 with articulation". Yet people seem to love this even despite the prices. But if there's anything I've learned about the forum dwelling members of the community, they're hypocrites. Especially one or two of them in particular and several Youtubers.
DNA Design DK-74 Upgrade Kits for Ruintron
Grahf: $52 on BBTS and TFSource. Extra flamesaws are $11 each also at BBTS and TFSource.

This kit will be more here as Show Z is always more expensive than BBTS for DNA kits.

No.

Just no.

Time to put this kit into perspective.

It's the same price as the Nova Prime kit.

It's more than the SS86 Grimlock kit.

It's more than any one of the three titan class Scorponok kits.

And for what?

New shoulders that are comically too large. Sure they also become rocket launchers for tank mode and it reminds me a bit of Chaos/Paladin (the third party Power Core Combiner Fallen figure from many years ago). I think these are meant to invoke the Kuro Kara Kuri figure. But that thing has giant forearms, longer arms in general, a shorter torso and less bulky legs as well. Meaning that it looks like Optimus Primal or Franky from One Piece. However the homage isn't going to work if it's only the shoulders that are oversized.

New flames to go on the already too large shoulders to make them even bigger.

A new spear tip. Not a whole new spear and sword, just the tip. I guess it's better than nothing if only slightly.

A facemask. I have no opinion one way or the other on this. It's useless to me but also okay that it exists for those who would want it.

Six tiny filler pieces in the wrong color and the color was already stated to never match but will "be better" than is already seen. Yet no other filler pieces for anywhere else like the underside of the back cannon that can be seen from the front of the robot mode.

The feet raisers and fillers but they break transformation. There's not one, not two but THREE other 3D printed designs that already exist that do this without breaking transformation. One of which doubles as fillers for the rear center of the tank.

A small clip to hold the flamesaw. Honestly, it looks very breakable.

Then the flamesaw itself. A piece that they themselves said costs a third of the price of the kit. However the weapon by itself costs $11 but the kit costs $52. So that math ain't mathing.

This company though. For every one kit that's good, six aren't. It's like they do it out of spite. But there's fools out there still praising this on their Facebook page that will happily eat this overpriced kit up. I'm sure it will be the same here.

However it seems as though at least the people on Facebook are starting to wise up a bit. There's far more negative comments on the post than positive ones.

I would like to have seen some stuff for the Requiem Blaster as seen in another kit.

Something to better lock the Requiem Blaster in place in tank mode. At least SS86 Megatron's forearms can lock into his Fusion Cannon. Shame his namesake can't do the same. Don't know why Hasbro didn't design it to do that to begin with. However there's another kit with parts to do this.

Again, things for the feet that don't break transformation. And again, there's three other options already.

A new stock sword/glaive/spear thing. It's a little small for him. It's sized more for a deluxe or voyager than it is a leader the size of Megatronus.

Twin arm cannons as originally seen on Megatronus in the War Within comics and the Titanium toy. Then with the handle for the Requiem Blaster, he can hold that in his hand and keep the smaller arm cannons as being arm cannons.

Maybe some options for the little shoulder weapon things. The one is on a 5mm peg and port system and the other on a ball and socket connection. So they'd be easy to replace.

But honestly, there's not much to really do with this figure. It was pretty solid. And anything else like the reports of the hips breaking might be too much for DNA to handle now. They don't seem up to the task like they were when they started making kits. I'd trust THAT DNA to do it but not the current DNA.

Oh and I guess the flamesaw. Or at least the options for it. However I'd like to have seen it somehow integrate into the alt mode somehow. Like have it become an alternate tank barrel. So it would be a flamesaw tank. That would work with the overall theme of the figure. Just a large murder tank swinging around a giant flamesaw in the front.

I waited getting anything to see what DNA would do and they let me down again. Ended up ordering the filler kit with a ton of pieces as well as the kit that has the transforming feet, tank cannon piece and the handle for the Requiem Blaster. Both kits at 20% off with about 65 total pieces for almost the exact same price as this set. There's going to be a few pieces that overlap between the two sets I got but I like to have options like I did for Generations Selects Super Megatron when I got both the kits for him.
