I really don't understand how a company that has almost 90% of their figures break or have other problems still get so much love and excitement for their offerings.

I can't wait until I see all the reviews of this that say that it broke it three places and that there are problems moving pieces past other pieces and that there isn't actually a (insert part of choice here like foot/arm) and that it's just panels folded together with zero tension and that nothing tabs together and that the joints are too loose but still somehow give it 5 stars because it's the only Misfire on the market.

Time after time after time after time people are burned by this company. Yet people still get their stuff. You are the problem. Insert Michael Jordan meme here: Stop it, get some help.

I mean I get it, all Transformers collectors are masochists but damn man. Some of you Xtransbots collectors must really hate yourselves.

But I mean we won't know about this figure for sure for another 5 years or so. This is going to be one of those "endless preorders" that won't see the light of day anytime soon. There's still the Omnibots that aren't done and their redecos. Punch/Counterpunch redecos. Headmaster Jrs. Deathsaurus. Throttlebots. Constructicons. Scoop. Galvatron. Windcharger and redecos. Protectobots. Battlecharger redecos. Autobot X. Perceptor and redecos. Orion Pax. Wheelie. New Rodimus and redecos. Ironhide and Ratchet. So maybe it would be more like 8 years before this comes out.

I'll just keep putting it back up. Delete it all you want.

Grahf: Wait a minute...this is the set that has people other than me questioning why they're together?

THIS set!?!

Seriously?

At least these two have had scenes together. And they make far more sense than Cyclonus and Bumblebee, Scourge and Warpath, Shockwave and Cliffjumper, Wheeljack and Inferno or Perceptor and Grapple.

If I were making the two packs I'd put a little more thought into it.

Maybe things like:

Hoist and Grapple. Obvious.

Trailbreaker and Inferno. Obvious when considering the previous duo. Plus there's plenty of redecos that can be done for the Trailbreaker/Hoist mold.

Cyclonus and Scourge. Duh.

Jazz and Cliffjumper. G1 in general but also The Movie.

Bumblebee and Hound. Human friendly characters.

Warpath and Cosmos. GoBots redecos.

Seaspray and Powerglide. Ditto.

Wheeljack and Perceptor. Scientists/inventors. Slice and Magnificus redeco set that doubles as a SG set.

Just when I thought I'd come in saying something about how Dr. Wu finally made a two pack that made sense when I read a bunch of comments of people saying that this is a weird duo. Three Insecticons...three Datsuns. I mean it makes sense to me this time around. Then from there any further redecos of the Datsuns like Barricade, Silverstreak, Iga Prowl, or whatever else could be partnered up with the DiaCLONES Zaptrap, Shothole and Salvo. Any further redecos of the Insecticons could be done like the Sweeps in that they release a set of clones in a more pale color scheme. Shattered Glass Insecticons and so on. The Datsuns have a ton of reuses if you they want to have fun with things.

Would it make more sense for them to do these as trios instead? Yes but that doesn't seem to be Dr. Wu's MO.

I mean I get why figures are released as odd multipacks as it's a way to get a "lesser" character to sell but it doesn't quite work at this size and price point. It almost has the opposite effect here. There's no need to not partner these all up in a way that makes more sense. For what Dr. Wu's doing, I think they'd sell better if the multi figure sets made more sense.

Grahf: Wow DNA, way to successfully kill all the hype I had for this. What's worse is that Show Z is yet again charging more than other places just for the hell of it for DNA kits. They're not the only ones that get the bonus parts so it's shouldn't be that.

$100 + for the base figure and upgrade kit.

That's steep.

This whole set isn't going to even be on par with a commander class figure like Armada Optimus or Motormaster/Menasor. This is going to be about on par with Siege leader class Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime overall.

Now I'm not saying that this should've been a $20 set to go with the $35 base figure for a $55 leader class total.

Obviously not.

What I'm saying is the sweet spot for this should've been about $45. Add the (still) $35 base figure for a grand total of $80. Less than commander but, rightfully, more than a leader.

I would happily have bought it at $45. As is though, I'm thinking of cancelling my preorder.

I have a feeling they're overcharging for this to try and make up for the past 25 some odd kits they made that mostly didn't and still aren't selling even on discount. They were overcharging for most of those as it were when compared to their prices and what you got for the older sets.

The current sets are mostly trash though. Sets filled with parts nobody wanted or were asking for. Pieces that literally didn't change the look of anything after swapping. Parts that were done better by no less than three other designers. Parts that weren't sized properly. Parts that actively conflicted with the other parts or the base figure. Parts that don't color match. Literally there's one set that has an arm longer than the other. Parts that didn't even address the "actual problems" the base figures had.

I miss when Perfect Effect, Fansproject, Transform Dream Wave, Junkion Blacksmith, IGear, X2Toys, Before and After, Dr. Wu, KFC, C-Plus Customs and whatever other companies were doing upgrade kits and add-ons. There were options. There was competition. They kept each other in check to keep prices down and to strive to make better kits.

Now we have only one company with no real competition. Quality drops. Usefulness drops. Prices rise.

Grahf: Did they design a Scorponok so good that they decided to change it to a "MP" release instead?

That's what it looks like anyway.

It's weird for a company to change scales like that but I don't mind when it comes to BW "MP" figures. This will look pretty good next to Terrorsaur and the rest.

However this needs maybe a little more time to simmer. I don't know what exactly but just a slight overall tweak will do. Very small. But this might just be because we're looking at a prototype. The final copy with the final paintwork might be all I'm thinking is "wrong" with this. But again, there's nothing really wrong. Just something I can't quite put my finger on is slightly off.

Nope I found it, it's the lack of gold paint on the shins, forearms and head as well as the lack of red on the tail blade. A few other colors differences here and there too. So it is just because it's the first look that's throwing me off and once it gets the full paint layout it will be fine.

But damn, they came real close on the first try with pretty much just plastic colors that I had to look up the character model to see what little was off about it.

I was excited before but now I'm very much looking forward to this.

But can maybe someone FINALLY do an Airazor now please? I'll take one any scale or size. I have the Beast Alliance and LiJiang already along with all the Kenner/Hasbro and Takara versions except that damn VHS release of the original figure as it has a stupid price usually. Yes, that includes Takara Metals Airazor to go with both blue and pink Kenner Transmetal Airazor figures. I like the pink TM the best, the Metals one then the blue TM. The FOX Kids TM is pretty good too and MIstress Death, the Armada retool, is amazing.

Please can someone do Unicron's Horsemen finally!!! TransArt can do Pestilence, Armada Cheetor, which I hope they do at some point alongside Armada Predacon.

Grahf: See now this makes sense to do for Missing Link. Sunstreaker is a very difficult figure to come by with all his parts. The molds were lost or broken and they never made new ones for him for whatever reason. So having him in Missing Link works. This should've been the second release though but at least it's one of the first.

Mirage should be a priority as well. You know, so you can own one that isn't bifurcated. And his redeco should be the red version that never gets an update.

Grahf: It's beautiful and it's amazing that it's actually getting done.

It's just that's a lot of money to still not be in scale lol.

But where do you put this? Do you get a bunk bed for it? A trundle? A crib? A bassinette? A playpen? A car seat?

If nobody puts theirs on a Big Wheel for a photo shoot it would be a waste.

Someone better "Weekend at Bernie's" this damn thing.

If you took this on a plane, would you need to purchase it it's own seat? Imagine trying to pass this through an X-Ray machine at an airport while it's in a suitcase.

Grahf: So this is a version two of the all in one design? So version three overall for this company I guess.

Their previous all in one version had pretty much the entire front of the truck cab as the back. This one cleans up like the SS86 figure. Their other version is a core figure with trailer that armors up the core figure.

They must have been very pleased with the back of this figure as it's also in the Sixshot listing as well.

Yeah, you read that right.

I'm not a big MP collector. I got the US retail of MP-01 and imported MP Starscream...which broke...and also got the first Walmart MP Skywarp. I wanted to import Megatron and get Grimlock and Hot Rod from Toys R Us but times were tough then. MP-10 came around that same time too. And while I liked the MP figures I had, I would rather have had several smaller CHUG figures instead of one larger MP figure for the same price. I still think that way in a sense. Maybe my mind is still working like it was when times were tough. Maybe I just don't really care about G1 MPs. I don't know. I do know I hate the new aesthetic for the G1 MPs so I'd never get them now.

Even still, I did like the look of MP-10 and there were more than a few KOs of it. Some were 1:1, some were oversized, some were undersized and I just never got any of them for some reason. I don't really know why.

So maybe this is finally the time I get some version of MP-10. I do like the colors on MP-44 but I like the look of MP-10 more. Which means that this should technically be perfect right?

Maybe I'll go for it.
