Lucky Cat MC05 Dragon King
Grahf: So this is a very confusing design.

It doesn't match aesthetically with the Megazord this goes to for starters. The Dragonzord is as "G1" accurate as possible since there's no greeblIng on the Dragonzord as seen on the Dinozords. There's no extra parts or pieces to enhance the playability or to "fix" the design of the original again as seen on the Dinozords. There's nothing that allows the new parts on the Dinozords to interact with this. No additional features. Just a basic, clean, accurate as can be mini Dragonzord that doesn't match the rest of its own set.

But I mean, why doesn't this also turn into a cube like the other Dinozords? It makes the whole turning into cube things even more lame than it was previously.

Cube forming aside, Lucky Cat made a really cool looking Megazord. It might not have been 100% originally their design but it was cool nonetheless.

So throwing all of that out for a Dragonzord that is pretty much just a shrunken down original with some added articulation is baffling.

This is like Bandai of America trying to shoehorn the 2010 ZordBuilder Megazord into the Legacy line by adding metal it wasn't designed to handle levels of baffling.
Takara Tomy Missing Link C-10 Ultra Magnus
Grahf: While I'm not into the Missing Link line as a concept, I didn't factor in previously unmade prototypes like Arcee and well, Ultra Magnus.

But now that we're 100% certain that we're getting Missing Link Ultra Magnus, things have changed.

I need this.

No no no, you don't understand.

I NEED this.

For a time I went everywhere with my G1 Ultra Magnus when I was a kid. Slowly but surely he shed parts and pieces all over the North Eastern United States. By the end of my time lugging him around I only had one shoulder cannon, the chest plate, the helmet and the bodies. All four fists were gone. All the other guns were gone. Both rockets were gone. The pelvis/trailer hitch was gone. But he came everywhere with me until he was retired.

There's even this one photo with my siblings and all the cousins (at the time) on my father's side at my titi's house in Connecticut in the 80's with a little me holding Ultra Magnus.

About ten years later we redid the photo but I didn't have an Ultra Magnus to hold. It was long after I no longer had any piece of my original except for a single shoulder cannon but before RiD 2001's Ultra Magnus came out.

Every time I see a new Ultra Magnus come out I think of that picture. While we're long past doing another updated photo, at least now i can have an updated version of the Ultra Magnus from that photo instead.

40 years really is quite a bit of time for humans isn't it?

Damn...
Grahf: Really? A dislike already? Why? What a loser. Seriously though, I said nothing controversial and spoke of my memories with the original Ultra Magnus. And if I find out that the downvotes make me not get points for those likes I also got, I will burn this whole site down by downvoting every comment on every listing. It's bad enough that they lowered the points from 16 to 8 and now down to 2 and that they almost never seem to give out those points anymore but people going to every one of my comments just to downvote them no matter what I say is fucking with my money at that point. You are actively disrupting my bank account by doing that if the dislikes do indeed stop points from likes.

mixmaster: Even I don't understand why they disliked you, you simply shared a nice memory. Truly pathetic. Personally I really enjoy reading these comments (I learned that ‘Boricuas’ refers to people from Puerto Rico and or people of Puerto Rican descent and Titi for grandmother) after all collecting Transformers is based,at least for me,on memories, and everyone has had similar but different moments, for me instead of Ultra Magnus it was Starscream G2,given to me by my grandfather.

Grahf: I have one to three people who go to every one of my comments just to downvote them but usually about two unless I say something "controversial" in which case it's four. So long as they're on recent listings or refreshes of older listings that is. They never seem to do it when I comment on items that are marked as sold out. So while I don't get any dislikes on those, I also rarely get likes on them either unless the people are like me and love going through the old listings. And yes, it would be the Puerto Rican side of my family. However the word "titi" is an alternative form of "tia" or "aunt". Specifically when you hold them in a higher regard. But basically, it's more to the effect of "auntie" than anything. However it's not all Spanish speaking countries that use that term as the word "titi" has some...less than nice meanings in other Spanish speaking countries as well as a few other languages too. "Abuela" would be grandmother. "Abuelo" is grand father. And "tio" is uncle. That's about all the Spanish I know lol. Oddly, my aunts and uncles are titis and tios but my grandmother and grandfather were just that and not abuela and abuelo for some reason. Just as my parents are mom and dad and not madre and padre. My family moved to the Bronx back when it was an Irish, Jewish and Italian community. So speaking English was heavily pushed on my father and tias when they were learning to speak as nobody was bending over backwards catering to non-English speakers back then like they do now. In turn, they all spoke English to my generation. Then us to the next generation and then again to the next who are still too young to have kids. Even for Boricuas lol. We might be geeks and goobers by my cousins sure did perpetuate certain other stereotypes lol. However my entire life I've gotten a ton of flak for being a "fake" Puerto Rican by others for not speaking Spanish. Only a few still understand when I say when my family moved to the continental US. I'd get flak from all sides though. I was too Hispanic for the Caucasians despite not having any melanin at all lol. But I was too white and didn't speak Spanish for the other Hispanics. Who all always knew by looking at my white ass that I was Puerto Rican though. They'd always scream "Boricua" at me despite not knowing me. I'd be walking down the street and people would randomly scream it at me. My mix of Puerto Rican is about 50/50 Taino and black which makes my extra white skin a real oddity as there's nothing from Spain in my mix but nobody in my family has dark skin unless they're mixed with something else from their other parent. But I'm also about 40% white and 10% more Native American from my mother. So I'm like 35% Native of some sort and 25% black but I can't tell them that either as I'm whiter than Casper the Friendly Ghost lol. Oh but you're black if you're even 1% as it's said nowadays but here I am at 25% and get laughed at about it lol. I can't catch a break ethnically lol. Oh well, nobody can tell what I am from behind this keyboard. Except someone who types a lot while they relax watching something.
Magnificent Mecha MM-01G OP Green Version
Grahf: Well now that's interesting.

*Looks at price.*

It's not THAT interesting.

So while looking at it I thought I recognized the deco.

Got on the wiki for G1 Optimus and nothing in either toy category. Close but not quite.

Then I remembered that it wasn't G1 Optimus but one of the three Unicron Trilogy Optimus designs that I seen this deco on. Close again but still no.

I checked every Prime I thought it could've been, all the Lucky Draw figures, all the store exclusives, even the Town Commanders and still nothing.

So the ones that were close were:

Robot Masters G1 "Crayola" Convoy. tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/d/d0/Crayola_convoy.jpg

Since this was one of the Lucky Draw figures that was made from fanart, I thought it was based on one of the ones shown. Some of them are close, but no.

Galaxy Convoy Custom Color Version. tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/b/bc/Cybertrontoy_custom_color_convoy.jpg

This was another fanart figure but only the winning one was ever shown. Close again, but still no.

I'm not too far off with the colors though. And those fan art ones are the only ones I ever seen that ever had something similar to a tetragametic chimerism deco on them. Bump of Chicken Earthrise Convoy does but the colors are all wrong.

But man, I swear I've seen this deco on something else before.

This is the first time we're seeing this figure in this deco though right? I mean, we haven't seen it solicited months or years ago right? I could just be retroactively remembering this deco trying to figure out the homage being paid but I'm certain this is a reference to something.

So sorry, I came up empty on a reason for this deco.

As for the figure though, at that price and it still doesn't come with everything from what I seen of this company.

They have an arm replacement kit for $27.

There's also an accessory kit with another set of hands and smokestacks and other things that should be in with the arms kit. for $68.

Damn.

I hope this version comes with all that for the price they're asking. I mean the arms should be permanently replaced by the new ones for the base price. But then add the other kit to the price of the base figure previously and you roughly get the price of this figure. So this thing should damn well come with all those new parts for that price. Yet the pictures so far don't show anything past the axe and a single sword from that kit. They're not even showing the stock Prime's loadout of the six style pose hands, the Ion Blaster and the display base. I'd hate to pay this much to begin with but to pay this much and not have a complete figure by this company's own standards would be outrageous.

I hope for anyone who wants this that it's just because they wanted to show off the deco first and foremost and that the pictures of everything being included will be shown later. I mean, that's a lot of money to not come with everything they made for this mold.
Zeta Toys EX-05N Arc Arcee Cartoon Color Version
Grahf: Heard about this coming back around. It wasn't a good design when it first came out. It's still not good now. The proportions of the head, hands and shoulders compared to the rest of the body are horrible. And ball and socket jointed shoulders on a third party pretend Masterpiece figure is bad even back then.

However, it's like a third of the original price now. As well as it's the Toyworld colors and not the Zeta Toys colors. Toyworld used standard colors like this and Zeta did the metallic colors. So if one was to be reissued, I'm glad it's the Toyworld colors.

Oh and I didn't even address the fact that she has no junk in her trunk due to her not having a trunk. In car mode that is. They left out the entire rear of the vehicle mode instead of trying to fold it into the thighs and backpack. There were at least two other third party Arcees designed when this was and they both figured out at least something to do with the trunk. Generations Thrilling 30 Arcee was also around this time and while that wasn't ever a good figure either, it at least tried better than this one.

But really, the head is so small and the hands and shoulders so big. She looks like G1 Strika from Five Faces of Darkness part 4. Or even that one female bot that Octane was watching in the episode Starscream's Ghost.
New Bee Factory NB-02 Devastation's Hand Upgrade Kits for Transformers SS86 Devastator
Grahf: I've known about this for a while now but never commented on it until now.

I absolutely HATE third party articulated hands, especially combiner upgrade hands. Very rarely do the hands looks convincing as open hands or balled up fists. Then there's the different ways they try to get weapons to plug into the hand or worse, just hope the friction holds things in place and how none of that ever seems to work properly. Yes there's some exceptions but usually, the hands are bad on third party figures, MP figures or upgrade kits. Sure you can get some extra posing done which is situationally cool. It's just that for me, I'd rather have long term stability for weapon holding and making sure that at least one "pose" (the closed balled up fist), looks as good as possible.

That all being said though, I think these hands look and work amazing well.

The fist looks like an actual fist and the articulation of the fingers look to be in the right places for it. The fingers and thumbs themselves look to be mostly properly proportioned to themselves and the hand. The digits look sufficiently sized and not skeletal or anemic looking like most combiner upgrade hands. They can actually open which is a point of articulation you don't see often. And most importantly, there's a rock solid looking 5mm port in them that runs the whole way through the hand and doesn't look out of place or worse, is an adaptor port.

And these absolutely blow the DNA hands away with how good these are. The DNA hands are pretty much everything I hate about third party upgrade combiner hands.

The worst thing about this set though is the price. They're $25 on Ebay with 7% off 3 or more items ordered and free shipping after 5 or more items ordered. For comparison, the DNA Devastator DK-73 kit will be $60 here. A kit that will come with new hands and the wrists just like this as well as a bunch of other things. How useful or meaningful the other parts are is another thing entirely but as far as value for money, the DNA kit wins. However, I think this is one of those times when a product is so good that it's worth spending more comparatively and getting less overall than getting something and being disappointed by the alternative.

To to me, despite these hands technically costing more than the DNA hands, these hands are by far worth that extra price. What these can do and how these look while doing what they do carry much more weight to me this time than it does to get "more" product for money. The value with this is that there's more parts per hand, the beautiful design and engineering work that went into them and the enjoyment that you'll get out of these once you have them.

So I'll be picking these up. Which again is odd for me to say since I normally don't ever get things like this. It's just extremely difficult to deny that these hands are indeed an upgrade in the fullest sense.

Oh okay, this is the company that made that superior Megatron arm for SS86 Optimus too. Not that I got it as I already can't stand that concept due to how much it's been done in how little time it's been since that comic but still.

So we have New Bee Factory and Origin Toys making injection molded upgrade kits that are well designed, have a better overall value for money and actually look and work good.

I know I said I want the defunct upgrade kit companies but if these two companies and more like them start pumping out the kits, we might not need the old ones to come back. Especially with how almost disappointing that TDW Tidal Wave is for how much it costs.

So I hope New Bee Factory and Origin Toys do very well with their kits and are able to expand so that they can get more done and quicker. But I think there's still room for maybe one more company. Three smaller companies making kits to rival DNA should be enough to keep them in check. So long as TDW stays in the game too.
[Pre-Order] BrickyRobo Concept 7 Diecast Salute Version
Grahf: Looks great in color but that price is an easy pass.
[Pre-Order] Newage H75D Cleon & H75E Ajax & H75F Rembrandt Set of 3
Grahf: Wow, these are some beautiful looking Junkions. The colors are great. Two sets of 3 to build up quickly. Nice.

Shame it's not a size I collect. Damn.
Grahf: Hahaha, someone is mad at me already. Again, at least I'm a real person who actually puts thought into their comments. Nice to see that the fake people are getting their comments deleted. Shame it's after they steal the bonus points from the real people here. One is still left here though, it's a copy and paste comment on this and the other Junkion three pack. People like that ruined the points system for the rest of us and it's bullshit. I just want to know how they know every single fucking time something is listed here. Within 5 minutes of every single new listing, there they are taking up the first three comments on all of them. Doesn't matter what time of day it is either. And it's no more than two actual people though. It's just that they have multiple accounts. I mean, it wouldn't make any damn sense for 8 "different" people from the same European country (they're changing their country to make it "less obvious" I see though) that are always online at the exact same time to leave comments on every single new listing as soon as they are listed. SOMETIMES depending on the time of the day, the rest of us have a chance to beat them to the bonus points, but it's not often. It's getting really fucking annoying. The bonus points I keep mentioning is that you get double points if you're one of the first three people to comment on a brand new listing. I have no life, but damn. Whoever you are got me beat. To always be here with your multiple accounts to take all the bonus points. You must be terminally online constantly refreshing the page in order to do that. I'm just glad that the points for likes system was changed. If you notice their likes, it's greater than their comments most times. Meaning that they were using their alternate accounts to give likes and points to their multiple accounts. Now it's only the first like you give within 24 hours that gives out points. So they barely bother giving likes to their multiple accounts anymore.
DNA Design DK-02 Fortress Maximus Upgrade Kit
Grahf: I'm so conflicted. I've been asking for this for a few years now. However, it's also at least $30 more than I was expecting too. Why the upcharge? Are the actually trying to get in on the overinflated aftermarket prices by scalping their own products or is this Show Z doing the upcharging like they did for the Legacy Metroplex kit?

Either way it's bullshit.
Lime Toys HR-01 Ares Optimus Prime Oversized Version
Grahf: Looks pretty good. Shame it's just Optimus as Optimus. I mean yeah of course it is. It's just that it does get boring to purchase the same characters in the same colors over and over and it doesn't always make a difference how good the figure is...or rather how good the figure it's based on is in this case as it's an oversized KO.

Obviously this would also apply to any Nemesis Prime or Ultra Magnus decos too. So I don't actually have any other decos in mind and am just complaining without any idea of how to change things. Not helpful I know but it is what it is.
