▲Today’s toy review features the OX-produced Guardian toys, including First Aid and Streetwise. The packaging design is filled with a strong retro vibe, and you can feel the designer’s attention to detail in every aspect. From the character portraits on the side of the box, you can tell the designer’s artistic skills are impressive, with the character illustrations being particularly lifelike. This shows just how strong OX’s art supervision capabilities are.

▲The paper materials include a character card, an instruction manual, and a small red card used to view the power stats on the back of the packaging! As for the accessories, aside from Streetwise having two additional interchangeable facial expressions, both figures have almost identical weapon configurations.

▲When comparing Streetwise’s robot mode, there are significant differences in the color schemes between the toy and animation versions. The biggest difference is in the head sculpt. The toy version’s head sculpt looks quite stylish, while the animation version’s is a bit more unusual. The toy version also features additional metallic paint. Looking at both versions from different angles, I’m not sure which one players will prefer—I’ve already got decision fatigue!

▲When comparing the two versions of First Aid in robot mode, the differences are even more noticeable than with Streetwise. The main feature is the G1-style stickers, although the toy version uses printed designs. Due to the paint color, the head of the toy version makes the face mask appear slightly larger, giving it a bit of a Cobra Commander vibe. Looking at other angles, you can see many adjustments in the color scheme and paint application. The toy version has a stronger retro feel and looks more layered overall.

▲Streetwise’s three face sculpts are quite impressive. The replacement process is also very simple—just pry off the chin, and it comes right off. In terms of weapons, compared to the animation version, there’s an additional flamethrower-style weapon. The handle of this weapon can be detached, but its specific function is still unknown. For now, we’ll have to explore and look forward to finding out!

▲Streetwise’s vehicle mode in the toy version differs from the animation version by being more white overall, rather than gray. The car doors are painted with metallic silver. Other differences lie in the detailed paint applications on the vehicle. The rolling action is still very smooth, and the paintwork on the vehicle’s details is executed at a very high standard.

▲In the toy version of First Aid’s vehicle mode, all the windows have been changed to a darker blue, with the blue windshield at the front significantly enhancing the overall aesthetics of the vehicle mode. The toy version also features more detailed paint applications, adding extra touches to the design.

▲When placed alongside Hot Spot, they look quite harmonious. After all, Autobots are meant to be displayed in vehicle mode. Once Groove and Blades are added, they can all line up together. As for the chassis, aside from some color differences in certain parts, it’s almost identical overall. The chassis remains flat and well-concealed, maintaining a high level of transformation accuracy.

▲OX has really sped up the release of these toy versions, and they’re launching two figures at once. I’m guessing that the toy versions of Groove and Blades will likely be released simultaneously as well. Although this is considered a “reissue,” there has been no compromise on production standards. The materials and manufacturing processes remain top-notch. They are getting smoother and smoother on the path toward fully integrated transformations, and we hope the manufacturer completes their combiner series soon to dominate the scene!
